    Sometimes things are less than blissful with a pre-teen in the house. I mean, what's with starting to grow up and realizing you have the right to have your own opinion? OMG!! Plus she's got me having to get out of bed every morning by 6:30 am to give her and her friends a ride to school so they can sleep an hour longer than if they rode the bus. Believe me, this is hardly even acknowledged most of the time.

    ...and there's trying to watch TV while doing homework, stomping of the feet when asked to unload the dishwasher...I guess I could go on and on.

    But today I came home after a hard day of work to the wonderful smell of warm cookies waiting for me. She's growing up, and I love her.

    My first thought was: What's her hidden agenda? She's too young to appreciate what you're doing for her - that won't develop until the twenties after she is out on her own in life. She wants something.
