  1. to ask a question........hehehehehhahahahahha!!

I notice that when I'm eating meat, I always cut all the meat up first before taking a bite. I wonder if I was always like that, so I'm just wondering what the rest of you do. I take a bite of one food item after taking a chunk of meat to eat. I know some people eat like all the pototoes first, then the green beans then whatever else. Not me, but I always save my favorite food for last to make a grand finale.

    What say you?

I used to save the best for last, but now I eat it first. If I'm going to run out of room, might as well be leaving behind the brussel sprouts.

I usually save at least some of the best part for last (sometimes the meat -- depends on what I'm eating). Sometimes I finish each course before going to the next one, sometimes I don't. I'm not sure why, I don't plan my eating out too much.

I like my meat as rare as possible while still being safe to eat -- I like the raw flavor better than the cooked flavor. Cooking meat at all introduces carcinogens into it -- meat cooked through isn't safe to eat often, and it can cause havoc with the digestive tract.

Bring the cow into the kitchen, let it stare into the oven in terror for a moment, then bring it to me. :p

Your forum name fits you. ;)

I eat everything together..but I usally always cut all my meat up before I start. :D Medium Well for me Just a little pink :)

  10. I normaly eat all of one thing at a time, starting with my favorite and working my way down the list. If there is mashed potatoes on deck with some corn / peas they meet a deadly fate of being mixed together. If theres a slab of meat ready kiss it good bye, Im a carnavore baby.

I used to like my meat raw and bloody. But then I got turned onto it being nice and pink on the inside. Not red and bloody, but with enough juices that when I bite into the meat it melts in my mouth. There's a great steakhouse around here called 667. By far the best steak I have ever had.

But anyway, getting back to the topic....

I'm a very methodical eater. I will eat one of my portions at a time. Be it the meat first, then starch, then veggies or another combination. I've always been that way, though I have sort of started to eat, let's say a nice Lemon Chicken with some of my asparagas together. The lemon from the sauce on the chicken enhances the flavor of the asparagas a lot.

I could never follow the religion of Islam or any religion that forbids me to eat meat. Specifically pork. The pig is such a wonderful animal. I think there isn't a spot on a pig that I haven't eaten. Ok, there is the eyes, snout, feet and tail. Oh, and the intestines, brains, heart, lungs and most of the insides of it. Well, then again, nothing beats going to the ballpark than having a nice frank, so I probably have eaten every part of the pig.

  12. I always eat my sides first then the meat last. I cut a piece at a time when I eat it for the same reason I use tongs instead of a fork for preparing the meat, to keep the juices in. :)

  13. I eat a bit of everything in each mouthful if I can. I find that variety adds a great deal to any meal. That said, a bite of exquisite steak is hard to beat and can easily stand alone. I used to be a well done guy, but now i usually request medium. I like some pink in the middle, but I want the outside to have a nice cooked layer as well. For something like a burger, however, I go straight well done. No pink ground beef for me.

As for cutting it up, I'll cut up anywhere from one to three or four bites. I don't cut more than that as it allows the meat to cool off faster, and I want it to stay warm while I eat.

With regards to the 'best bite' first or last, I usually want to leave the meal with a good impression, so I usually leave a bite that is representative of high quality for the last. It doesn't have to be the single best bite though.

Props by the way for an excellent thread...its made me want to go eat steak
