Merry meet from Wilobren Brandybuck!

Greetings to all!

My real name is Scott, live in north Texas (thats central time), watching 40 approach in under a month. Family man, work 40+ hours/week, and enjoy the idea of getting lost in the world of middle earth for a few hours as I can.

I didn't get into any clans in closed beta. I didn't seek and none approached me. Now we're moving to open, and yes I did pre-order and have the open-beta flag on my account, I decided it's high time to find myself a clan. I tried a few different classes, but minstrel has been really fun. I didn't find what server you all play on for beta, but I'm on Meneldor. On that server my character is Wilobrand, I didn't take the surname in beta. Wilobren sounds better to me now, but most just call me Wilo. I'm not dead set on staying on that server, but try and let me know before March 30th so I can get on the right server so I can spend some quality time with fellow members.

I really like and agree with the ideals you list in your code of coduct, so there will not be any issues there. I will demonstrate.

I don't usually run more than two characters. I will announce any alternates if I do. I do have teamspeak, although I have voice enabled in game which is a nice feature. But that is limited to the group. Not sure if it broadcasts to raid, but I don't believe so.

play: I fall into the casual area, although if things are scheduled I do my best to attend. My work hours are 11 pm to 8:30 am Sun - Thur. Weekends generally free, except for Friday nights where my wife and I usually go out and an occassional Saturday family excursion. I generally play mornings after I get home from work and get the morning chores done so usually on by 9:30 am central.

Anyway, tis all for now. I'm going to play for a bit today. I might stay up for the 'End Day' event. They did say have plenty of minstrels.

 

I will be looking for you all then soon, and please either just call me Scott or Wilobren (Wilo for short). I'll be roaming the shire on the 30th in the morning. I don't think there will be any major changes, but we will see.

My other planned vocation, as if this one would be unexpected of a hobbit, is cook/jeweler. The expert lvl foods have pretty high regeneration rates. Someone dropped a few gold on me the day before, so I went on a cooking spree before the last event.

FYI for those who haven't been in closed beta. You need to establish something for generating cash, because they get you in repairs pretty hard after level 15. Unless they change it, death hits your item durability counters hard and I've heard some spend as much as 250 silver on just repairs after running the depths of the Great Barrows. Pick up all vendor fodder and save.

For those who didn't make it, for the majority it was what I expected with having so many people on at once. I don't know if the server crashed, but I got disconnected a little after 7 pm central. Even with settings minimalized, latency was very high. Haven't been in a game yet that can really handle so many players in any one location at a time. As to what they were doing, it began with bugs in the Shire & Bree. I saw an announcement roll by for the Elf-lands, but out of character chatter was high. When I was disconnected, we were trying to stop the flow of undead out of Barrow Downs.

I took my surname today, unfortunately the system wouldn't let me have Brandybuck. Had to settle for Brandybuk.
