    They're barking up the wrong dog with this bill -- these days, internet security threats don't come from inside the country, unless you count the minor annoyance of zombied home machines used as spambots, but those are run by foreign organized crime anyway. If they really wanted to help, they would help people realize that sending your bank account details to a deposed Nigerian dictator really isn't a good idea, and that Hotmail didn't lose your account details, so they don't need your password in order to get them back.

    Realizing that connecting critical infrastructure like traffic control systems, nuclear power plants, and such to the Internet in the first place is probably a bad idea, too. If it's not connected, it's a lot harder to get in.

    You are making to much sense for these days..

    But yea this couldn't be a worse idea.. could you imagine if they exercised this right? WHAT EXACTLY are they going to do anyway? lol And yes, none of that crap should be connected to the internet at large to begin with, if it is then we deserve to have it hacked.

  9. A Revolution is coming. In my 34 years, Ive never felt as much dissension and fear of our government as I do now. And Ive heard it from both sides of the spectrum.

    As much as that should happen it's highly unlikely that it will. Most of Americans are too lazy to do much of anything let alone revolt against the asshattery.
     
  12. wow!!!! got the nice morning ray of sunshine with this one! the main issues we are facing with Internet security, is that none of these systems have roots founded in security. The entire system was designed with implicit trust in mind in the beginning. Re-engineering the entire system to become secure is a gargantuan under taking. Unfortunately it always is very expensive, which is why the white hats are always going to be behind the black hats.

    As for the political commentary, we are pretty much screwed no matter which way we go at this point. The main issue confronting this country today is that the people how are in charge are not in touch with the reality of day to day life. They are incredibly distanced from the average person's day to day experiences. Our government was designed to be run by people who actually understood the needs and desires of their constituency. Once we lost that connection, our experiment failed. Just my two cents...

    I just have to say that it gladdens my heart to see the right joining the left in anti-government sentiment now that the Democrats have taken over. :D
