Windows 7 Home Premium or Pro - $29.99 for .edu

Discussion in 'General Open/Public Discussion' started by Strygun, 17 Sep 2009.

  1. Hey kids,

If any of you currently have access to a .edu email address, you can snag a FULL, no strings attached copy of Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional for just $29.99. Yup, $29.99. It's supposed to be a college-student deal (most likely in response to the fact that most college students use Macs and they just released Snow Leopard for the same price), so if you're currently in college or perhaps still have access to your address when you used to be in school, you can take up this incredible offer.

I don't plan on upgrading my current laptop to Win7 (from XP), but I just couldn't let this offer slip by. I'm going to download it and store it on an external HD until I find a reason to use it.

  2. Hmm...that sounds like a great deal...

and apparently even if your school doesn't provide a .edu addy, you can still qualify. See here

  6. Not possible anyway. XP is not available as an upgrade option to Win7 (Vista upgrade only). Win7 has to be a clean install if you have XP.

Great offer! Thanks so much for posting!

If it was only that easy, unfortunatly you have to be a real accredited educational institution to get one of those.. :p

  8. yeah, by upgrade I meant upgrading in general from XP to Win7. If I use Win7, I'll do a clean install no matter what. Don't want all that junk left lyin around on the hard drive.
