    Yeah, I saw this happen a few times with us as we tried to defend. This is a serious game-changer in my mind, as you most certainly have no way of stopping it. They should set it the same way as the arming/disarming process is or we will definitely have the entrance of cowboy antics.

    Before this tactic was discovered, it took serious squad work to break the defense of a good squad...we demonstrated this time and again. Working as a squad we were able to hold off multiple attacks of mixed armor and infantry simply through good communication and teamwork. Also, we were able to break through a good defense by analyzing the defense and reacting by flanking moves. Again, good squad tactics and fire/maneuver skills yielded victory.

    If they make it that easy to kill an objective, that will end. I hope they patch it.

    I hope they do manage to patch it in soon, because it seems like they're just dumbing it down for the consolers. Because, while I know that everyone on this thread will cringe, the old school Alterac Valley was fun to me. Each waypoint you had to sling it out in the trenches to achieve the objective. And yes, it often took 2 to 4 hours to complete a battleground, but at the end, you left with a sense of accomplishment or defeat. It was just "wait in queue" for another battleground, play for 5 minutes, then wait again.

    This new way of completing the map offers zero chance of that happening. Defense basically becomes a paper wall with some bullets flying that you can dodge just by following the tank in. And I don't like that.

    Agreed. The slugging it out squad-style is what appeals to me. Fast maps suck. I want brutal, sometimes hand-to-hand combat where it is akin to trench warfare, or serious urban combat moving from one room to the next.

    From what I hear there's a lot that's missing from the Beta.. Possibly a going prone option, as well as toggling things like crouch (good because I'm spraining my fingers trying to keep down from all the sniper fire).. Even things like weapon textures aren't high rez, deliberately so in the beta to keep the size of the download manageable.. hopefully that doesn't hurt you guys with the video cards that were struggling earlier :D

    As for prone, I would just be happy if they didn't have it. It forces people to keep moving. You get prone and people start camping a spot. Although, during mortar barrages prone would be nice. :lol:

    Oh, and on the combat knife thing...just because I have 68 knife kills DOES NOT mean I enjoy it. Well, that's a lie actually. It is fun. :D

    As well as some other stuff. Going to give it a try tonight and see what happens. With my specs the game shouldn't be running as crappy as it is. I've read some threads on the official forums where people with some crazy powerful specs are also experiencing issues... :lol:

    I hope that lets me bind my jump key properly.. DICE games were always a bit crap in not letting you bind some keys for no obvious reason, making you edit files to do it. Highly annoying..

    The C4 thing needs to be reviewed, imo. It should be something that the defense has the chance to disarm if it is in fact set by a troop.

    I understand the damage from choppers and armor, but one guy should not be able to take out an objective.

    I ping the Atlanta servers with a 15! That is weird that you can't ping to the NE servers lower than that.

    i'v had a couple that show below 100 in the server browser but once i get in game it shoots back up to 150.

    So I made a bunch of tweaks and got a bit better performance out of it.. here's to hoping they have some more optimization soon because I was reading about people with Quad Core i7 beasts having issues.. lol

    So I have definitely found that a squad of Dragon Wolves can in fact be very effective in this game. It is the unique experience of gaming to find yourself directing fire, covering as another CDL moves up, leading point as another CDL covers you, following a mortar barrage called in by a CDL into an area recently occupied by now dead enemy troops.

    This is gaming in its purest form and at its height of experience. Plus, if the CDL is on the other team you can get their dogtags. :eek:

    Man, I am enjoying this game too much.

    Friend list seems to work most of the time , haven't had issues with the game crashing on the browser screen.

    Yea Jen added me last night and it worked fine, she was able to join servers I was on and the other way around. Same with Nyara i believe.

    You mean you can't make friends? Or the brow... oh...

    That should make things easier.. :D

    Jen wont be on my friends list though, just on my "person of whom I require dog tags from in a childish form of retribution"-list :p
