New Western themed game by Rockstar for 360

    I bought this last night.

    Pretty much the only games I buy on Console are made by Rockstar. :lol: They are just the masters of the open world game.

    So far I am amazed at the detail and content in the game and I've only played a few hours.

    I was thinking of picking this up myself.. I feel bad about it though because I hear the dev treated their employees like slave labour to get it finished..

    Though I would wear a pair of nike's if you gave them to me so... :p

    Yea Rockstar doesn't mess around. It cost between 80 and 100 million to make it :eek:

    I haven't played that game, however it is very similar to other Rockstar games. There are allot of carry overs from GTA4 for the interface and mechanics.

    It does stand on its own though its not GTA in the wild west for sure.

    The thing is though, You don't have to play like that if you don't want to which is what is so awesome about Rockstars open world games. I've been opting to be a good guy so far - where I could just kill everyone and camp out in the forrest if I wanted to go that route.

    People always get up in arms about GTA games or pretty much anything Rockstar produces. The thing is though, it's open world. They give you the freedom to play however you want to and you don't need to live within certain boundaries if you don't want to.

    Two Hamma thumbs up on this one. ;)

    I got it. Love it. If you were a fan of the quality of GTA4, you'll like it. If you liked the wide open spaces of GTA:SA, you'll really be happy.

    Reminds me of a cross between Oblivion and GTA4 for some reason.

    The coop free roam is pretty cool I was playing with a cannon at this old fort. Dude comes up behind me when I had a bounty on me and throws some lead in my back.

    I respawn, rifle him in the nuts and get up on a gatling gun. It had two ladders to get to it. When he pops his head up, assuming I'd have my back to him I nailed him. He kept spawning outside the fort. Me and Mister Gatling got him 4 more times before he finally sniped me.

    Funniest moment so far was getting off my horse and seeing two mountain lions. My first thought was, "Oh cool, they have animals in here."

    Snarl, claw, bite, a little bit of screaming and I am cougar poop. "Yeah, I guess that makes sense."

    Yea the landscape can be rather unfriendly. I had a dude try and steal my horse and I had to put some led in him

    Are you guys playing on some kind of persistent server in the game or something? Or do you connect to a multiplayer group before you play?

    I've played quite a bit of the multiplayer already, you join in on a free roam session (with about 15 others it seems). Or you can make your own private free roam (which is no fun).

    Oh and i added you to my friends list on the xbox asp

    Well, it's like instanced worlds. Where you never know whose going to be there. But I am sure that you will have the same ability to connect to friends and go to their servers. At least that is what the chatter says.

    The single players so fun that you really have to tear yourself away. (That and you want to get up to speed enough that you don't embarrass yourself)

    Like any Rock Star game, there is an over abundance of stuff to do.
