I am so looking forward to the release of the dog fighting module. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on any HOTAS setups on what they use and suggest!

Nice, I did check it out and I am a bit torn between the x52 and x55 setups. they both look really cool and whatnot just wondered if anyone had anything they were happy with already.

I like my x52, but I have yet to play a game that takes decent advantage of it, never tried flight sims or warfighter, so I'm hoping SC will do that..

PS2 was what I was REALLY hoping would take advantage of it, but alas, no..

Fair enough, After learning about Star Citizen it really makes you realize the lack of games like this. I looooved the xwing games which is why I just purchased a ship lol. Now I am all ancy in my pantsy looking forward to this and want to have a nice setup when the time hits.

Does the x52 seem pretty solid and do you think the throttle has enough buttons /controls on it for Star Citizen?

I was thinking about that also Khorne (love the warhammer reference btw) But that will mean I have to wait til the game comes out and all of that boring stuff. From what I have read it sounds like it will most likely be a reskinned x55. I was looking at the thrustmaster version of that .... wow expensive!

LOL I have been reading good things about the CH gear also, which is why I was asking. I think I may end up going with that CH setup as well. cost wise is about right and I have read nothing but good reviews about the gear.

Another addition I was thinking about was the trackir 5 so I can just look around and have my pilot move his head as well. Seems pretty freaking sweet!

That's the one I just picked up. Best deal for the money if you can't or don't want to put out big dollars. Tried twice ordering it through two places over November/January but they were constantly on backorder and two months into it, still nothing so I cancelled them. Happened to be in my local computer store and poof, there they had them on the shelves. Go figure.

  9. Don't forget that CIG may make a deal with a company to produce a stick for Star Citizen. It may be better to wait just a bit.

Yeah, but the possibility of it being $100+ more than a standard setup is what gets me. Razer did it with their WoW/Starcraft II stuff.

My best bet is the X52 to be honest. The prices have fluctuated over the past few months, at least on Amazon in the Used section. The highest I've seen them go is for around retail. The lowest was around $75. The next time they're down around that price I may finally make that jump.

I've been looking at either building my own or buying some armchair adapters so I can put the throttle/joystick on the sides of my chair.

On an X52 there's about 9 buttons on the throttle one "hat" (4 way switch) and 4 dials that can be programed for anything really... The main difference I see between the 52 and the 55, is more a "retro" look for the 55, with actual switches and such..

Another valid point, and if they do make a version for star citizen it will most likely not come out for another year or so seeing how the game hasn't even started alpha yet.

I'm sure they've got some mock ups and such going on right now. I don't think it'll be a year, especially if Chris Roberts has anything to say about it. He wants everything wired tight. You only get one chance to make a first impression.
