Ship stats updated!

Discussion in 'Star Citizen Public Discussion' started by Khorneholio, 9 May 2014.

  1. Now I got something to look at tonight when I get off of work

  2. I like how they started putting max size vs factory stock. The Orion is about the size of a Starfarer(!), and the 890 Jump is still bigger than most, but smaller than the Starfarer. Plus a ship I don't remember hearing about, the Anvil F8 Lightning (Space Superiority). The Herald is tiny, yet very sleek and maneuverable (14 TR1 thrusters with 1 TR5 primary). The Carrack is about the size of a Constellation, with a med/repair bay and dedicated computer core for jump charting.

  3. You're not kidding; at least 7 of those 10 additions we didn't even know about.

  4. The Merchant mine got a huge upgrade. It is bigger then the starfarer all around and has a crew of 8. Currently the Hull C (smuggling) seems to be the largest ship outside the Idris with the Merchantman coming in 3rd. But perhaps the Starfarer will get a stats pass as well.

  5. Yeah, it's a muthafuckin beast now! Bigger body, more cargo, bigger powerplant. It's basically an Idris-mini now!

  6. And is anyone confused by the freelancers weapons entry now?

Looks to perhaps be the set up of the variants.

  7. -More upgrades and changes I noticed:

Avenger- Nose gun is back to size 5 and is now Class 2 articulating! Also got a default stock of missiles. It's interesting to note that while the maximum primary thruster size is 5, it only comes standard with a size 3.

Freelancer- Class 2 weapons removed and upgraded to big twinmount Class 4 remote turrets.

-A couple ships have class 9 automated defense systems, which sounds pretty boss.

-Most ships include a lot more detail in the stats concerning not just the size of the equipment, but the quality rating, and specific attributes (HE, HO, LE, Etc) of equipment. Also shields show a variety of types (Box, Quad, Front/Rear, Etc).

-The MISC Hull C holds 200tons of cargo and has TEN TR4 Primary thrusters! O_O

  8. I think they just decided the big weapon sponsons on either side would work better as remote turrets than articulated mounts, and tbh... I agree.

  9. Yeah the Hull C is big, but very lightly armed and seems like a lot of dead space at 220M legth and 200 tons versus the MM with its 100m length and 180 tons of cargo, but I get the Hull C has a lot of dead space in which to hid things for smuggling.

Not seeing a difference in the Xi'an Scout military and civie model yet, but the Xi'an bomber (Volper) has me intrigued, I imagine a hyper maneuverable fighter/bomber with missiles is going to be a bitch to deal with.

The Carrack also came out smaller then I would have expected from the initial description.

Also noticed they removed the upgrade slots stat finally.

  10. I think the Hull C's main defense is going to be outrunning pirates rather than fighting them. It screams Millennium Falcon to me.

The 890 jump is intriguing. It looks to have a lot of cool toys, but the cargo capacity is way lower than I'd have thought.

Also I heard that cargo capacities are still in flux as they're moving from weight to volume for measuring them.

I think the hull c might be my next purchase if possible, I like em big...

  12. Yeah. I'm not willing to put TOO much more money into ships, but if the prices are close I might sell my Starfarer and turn it into a Hull C.

  14. yeah me and scrub were talking about that earlier, seeing as they didn't change the corvette thing I feel that its stats are incomplete.

Has the Carrack ever been for sale? I want one of those!

  16. Nope

The Carrack, Hull C, 890 Jump, Herald, Mustang, Orion, and Surveyor have not been sold yet.

The Vanduul and Xian bombers may or may not ever be for sale, I see a chance the Xi'an but not the Vanduul. The F8 Lighting may in a civilian version in the future, but who knows.

  17. It's interesting to note what the stat changes have done to grey market prices. The merchantman is selling for like $550 now! O_O

  18. Well hope they don't get buyer remorse since you can only gift a ship once now and then you are stuck.

yeah I think that the single trade is going to drive a lot of the prices up quite a bit after a while.
