  3. Someone find out where this mook lives...then we have a CDL rally on his face...

I will keep my mouth shut and comments to myself cuz that guy doesn't deserve to be acknowledged. Yes, there is freedom of speech, but there is also a line of respect. Thought I don't agree with everything I see in the gov't, I still do not cross the line of respect.

  4. *nods*

I agree completely. These men and women die for our right to live free...and this jerk can only talk about payment plans, and other garbage? *boggles*

Why are people like him allowed to live??

  5. because we have unselfish people willing to die for him and his sort....

  7. omg .. i am so disgusted reading something like this. i normally stay out of debates and things like this, however, this is something i have personal experience with.. i wonder how much of the population knows that most military familys qualify for some sort of finacial aid to support the family, such as food stamps and wic programs (women, infant and children, helping feed and nourish their children).. yes military familys qualify for food stamps!!!! the guys and gals that are our there on the front lines, are the ones supporting this countrys freedom...
do people realize how many times a day while your loved one is oversea's that their family thinks about them and just prays for one phone call in six months time. or a letter written three months ago is the latest news from them.
i think someone should send that guy over there and see if what ever paltry sum the goverment does pay him for his service is really worth it. the worth is in knowing that thier family, and friends and country is free. the american military truely is one of the most thankless and selfless jobs anyone can go into, however, it is also a job that they should be the proudest to serve. and i can admire them families left behind that hold things together while their loved ones are oversea's.

  8. I think this guy should be given to me for..... 're-education'.

    ...

    ...

re-education by shoving him ass first down onto an upright, sharpened stake. (eh sentrosi?)

  9. To be honest I think he was best left ignored. I think all we are doing is making him famous and that's all he is looking for. He is nothing more than a media hound looking for the spot light. I stopped watching after about 5 minutes. I was just sad, Fox should have never had him on.

  10. Agreed :)

I had never heard this before. I have a good friend in the Marines (currently deployed in Iraq) and a cousin in the Air Force (currently stationed in London). My income is quite a bit above average. My cousin makes a little less than I do, and my friend makes significantly more (he's been in longer). Is there a pay disparity between ranks/branches of the armed forces? I obviously have limited knowledge, but the military folks I know are paid pretty well (if you can ever pay someone enough for putting themselves in harm's way the way they do, I suppose). If we're paying others little enough that they need public assistance to make ends meet, that's a serious problem. :(

The pay system in the military is based on rank and time in service. Typically lower ranking members with not much time in make the smallest amounts, but there are a lot of other factors to consider as well. Here are some things to consider:

Some jobs are entitled to flight pay, continuation bonuses and special pay, and some jobs are not. Some people live in free on-base government quarters (barracks or base housing) and others live off-base and receive a housing allowance. The amount of the housing allowance depends on the person's location, and whether or not they have dependents.

You have base pay, average housing allowance, monetary food allowance, and the "tax advantage" of untaxed allowances. Also items such as overseas housing allowance, overseas COLA (cost of living allowance), enlistment or reenlistment bonuses, or other bonuses and allowances that many servicemembers are entitled to.

    An enlisted pay chart link:
    Enlisted Pay chart

This pay chart is just for "base-pay" and doesn't cover housing allowances (BAH), food allowances (BAS), and other allowances or entitlements that a service member may be entitled to (Cost of Living Allowance, Family Separation Allowance, Jump Pay, Hazardous Duty Incentive Pay, Flight Pay).

Very informative! :D A link about qualifying for food stamps:

    Food Stamp Facts

It's the first one I found, and it's a few years old, but I don't imagine it's too inaccurate (please feel free to correct me if you have better info :) ). It turns out that, yeah, military families on the low end of the pay scale without allowances/other income sources could qualify for food stamps depending on how many children they have. Wow...you learn something every day...

So I just got home and watched it where I actually have something that can read a WMV stream...Yeah, 'tard' is an excellent description of that fellow. If he felt strongly enough about the military that he's willing to make a website, you'd think he'd at least be able to clearly articulate what he dislikes about it. It's just...sad that he was so wtfpwn3d by a fairly weak argument on Hannity's part.

I agree, if for no other reason than that the government is much more likely to pay attention to you if you approach them in a respectful manner. Also, the government is made up of people like you and I, who deserve to be treated in a respectful manner.

And, hell, I don't agree with much of anything they do! :p Reminds me, I've got to write a letter to my state representatives about this latest bit of silliness...

  17. Its really sad and sometimes hurtful when people have these opinions. He may never in his whole life know what it feels like to be in our troops shoes. He will never understand how rewarding it is to pray for the troops to come home safely. Because without these people, he would not be free, I would not be free, we would not be free. I just want to say thank you to all the people who fight for us each and everyday. Its good to be free. :)

Actually, it is good this guy is getting coverage...let me explain.

First off...Flag burners. I hate them. Yet would not deny them their right to do so. I don't have the right to deny them that. The American Flag GIVES THEM THE RIGHT TO BURN THE AMERICAN FLAG!

Weird how that works, isn't it? That Flag allowes Itself to be burned so that other Amercan Flags can wave. That Flag gives It's life for all of us, as it is our Standard. If one cannot burn THE ONLY symbol of Freedom, how Free are we? The one thing these Flag burners don't understand, though, is that they aren't burning a symbol of the US Gov, they are burning a Symbol of the American People. Most burn it in rejection of the US Gov......they need to burn the Seal of the Pres or something, not the Stars and Stripes.

Now, this dude. He PROVES how Great America is. America allowes morons like this the right to say such idiotic things. I'm sure those in less fortunate countries, if they ever saw this, would say "Wow, America must be Great, if someone can get away with saying the things he has said".

So, in a way, this asshat could be an example of how Freedom works. Granted, his days are probably numbered, and more exposure will lessen those days....but we do have the Freedom to say "I know nothing about how he died".

    See how that works?!!

I think this guy was rejected from all 5 branches of the Armed Forces and thought this would be a great way of getting back at them.

I will defend this guys right to put this on the Internet. I WILL punch him in the face if I ever see him. I have the right to defend what he is saying but I also have a right to "express myself".
