Anyone else in Auto assault beta?

If so how is it?..... oh yeah it is still under NDA, so be sure to describe what the beta is like in between a pair of *cough*

They had a playtest today that I took a part in..... the game is essentially CoH in a spiritual sense. First time you play it, you think it is great and you wonder why other mmorpg lacks certain elements this game has..... but there is a 99.9% chance that the novelty will wear off and it will become a bore fest.

That said, the game right off the bat is great fun. You can outfit your vehicle in lots of crazy ways visually and functionally (right now I have a flame thrower turret on top of my truck, a machine gun-type weapon in front and some blades for ramming! don't have a rear gun yet ). Supposedly you can get all sorts of different vehicles, but I have yet to find out where they are sold/dropped.

The most fun comes from combat. Picture being able to ram through a whole village of murlocs destroying everything (buildings included) in your path..... that is essentially what this game offers.

Hey, someone want to set up the guild in-game during wednesday's playtest? I won't be able to play at all on wednesday due to work


Not sure what CDL name variation we want to go with ..... or if you want to go with something else all together since it is just for fun. Also, not sure if there is any sort of guild interface... I hope so, would be nice to see who is on and where they are at.

 

well crap.... they revised the playtest times.... again. And now I won't be able to play at all. The Net devil devs can kiss my ass

 

The playtest schedule has been slightly tweaked again in the hope of accomodating as many players as possible.


Wednesday: 6 pm to 10 pm Central (7 to 11 pm Eastern/11 pm to 3 am GMT)

Friday: 12 pm to 4 pm Central (1 pm to 5 pm Eastern/5 pm to 9 pm GMT)

Saturday: 6 pm to 12 am Central (7 pm to 1 am Eastern/11 pm to 5 am GMT)




They took away the late friday session..... to accomodate more players.... makes perfect sense!

 

This game has a decent amount of potential and offers a unique gaming experience....... however, it is still very early beta (or at least it better be). Be prepared for lag/crashes/bugs/rollbacks/fun!
