Wootah, Someone that rides a bike. I am the service Manager at the local Yamaha, Polaris, Bombardier, And Triumph dealership here in Alabama (used to be Service Manager at the Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki dealership). SO I love me some bikes, I ride an SV650S (with lower fairing kit), so I understand your feeling when ya hop on the Katana, although you being a guy I think you will come to maybe lean towards the darkside of speed, IE: The Gixxers, but if ridden properly the Katana's serve their purpose. Anyways gratz on your bike and keep the rubber side down and the chrome side up.

    Nice bike Shads :)

i been thinking of getting one to drive back and forth to work since gas prices are getting higher....only thing mom didnt like the idea coz of all the crazy morons in this area :(

  14. I love you shads. I have been looking into buying a motorcycle as well but all of the sport bikes were like $8000-$10,000+. That is a beatiful bike and is reasonably priced. I might just fit it into the budget yet!

  15. Sweet bike Shads! I'm gonna sneak into the parking garage this afternoon and pretend it's mine!!!!!

  16. Shoulda got a busa =P

Meh, Busa's are overrated. If your looking for all out speed, a Liter bike will stomp it in the ground nowadays, and if your looking for speed and comfort the next generation ZZR's will easily outperform the busa in all departments. IMHO

  18. Good choice Shads. If this is your first bike, it's good that you didn't get in over your head. It's also a very nice looking bike at that! The ergonomics are friendly, too.

I started riding 3 years ago and I still have my first bike. I used to live up in NY (Rochester, where I went to school), but I moved down to FL for a job last year. Needless to say, I didn't get to ride as much as I would have liked in NY, hehe.

My bike is a '82 (yes '82, I was a poor college student) Yamaha XJ650R Seca. The owner kept it in great shape and it still runs like a champ! I've been looking to upgrade (though it probably still won't be for a while) to a Yamaha YZF-600R because I want speed and comfort. I don't think I could handle leaning over the handlebars of an R6 for too long. What do you think, Oakfist? I was actually interested in the SV650S, but I just love my Yamaha, so I want to stick with them.

Enjoy the bike, Shads, and be safe!

  19. I think whatever kind of deathsled you boys ride you had best all be safe. :) I have grown up around bikers of all kinds forever :) and seen lots of nasties. I only ask that you all always ride with pants and a shirt on and boots at the least!!! Helmets.. well they are nice, but i honestly cant make you guys wear them if i dont... :) however, that bike shads has, you guys riding them NEED the helmets!! :)
