Getting to know me

Discussion in 'The Dragon Wolves Recruitment Forum' started by mercuri, 17 Nov 2005.

  1. Hi, I'm Mercuri, and I'm a WoW-aholic.

In a stroke of brilliance brought on by Lochborne I decided to post here a bit about myself so you all could get to know me a bit better.

Started online gaming back when diablo 1 came out. Back then I didnt have many people I knew with online capabilities so I hung out at a friends house and played Diablo 1 religiously. Went from diablo1 to quake to diablo2, and then for christmas of '00 I got Dark Age of Camelot. Never before had I been so sucked into online gaming as I was when I realized how much I enjoyed playing video games with other people, all the time, whenever I could play too....I was hooked.

When it comes to online games I want to know what I'm playing, who I'm playing against...oh yeah all online games for me need some sort of pvp aspect, otherwise I could just go play console games and save $15 a month.....I also want to be the best possible at what I'm doing. In terms of DAoC this ment 8 man gank groups. The pvp in DAoC would be something like a 3-way AV (lots of zerging by 3 realms) with group max being 8 instead of 5, and no raid groups to share points with. Well after about 2 yrs in the game I had found a small group of friends on hib/kay and went to town with our 8 man group. After wiping the floor for a few months (by that I mean taking out 40 other people at once with just our 8....running around for 3 hrs at a time and nobody dying...) it just kind of got ignorant, and not fun when you basically "cant be beat." I had been playing WoW beta along with a friend (Tayosis, who also plays on TW and is a RL friend) so we decided we were gonna pickup WoW on launch day.

Since WoW launched I played on Archimonde w/ Tayosis (his work schedule at the time prevented us grouping a lot). I then moved to Doomhammer to play with some old DAoC friends who decided to go back to DAoC. After that I moved to Tichondrius and played with other friends from DAoC tho their guild wasnt wanting to do end game raids (MC, Onyxia, BWL) at the time and lacked the #s of those of us who did to actually try and do joint-runs. So after spending days on end in AV and farming my way to rank 6 rather quickly I looked for a more fun alternative.....enter laughing skull. Now on LS the only difference in the group I played with was this was comprised of RL ppl I knew (mainly) and not just online friends. Blasted the priest to 60 quick as hell, got geared and set....well lets just say No MC, and now we're here.

So the shaman being one of the few classes I havnt played at 60 yet, I am working my ass off to become as good as I can with the class. I play constantly as I only work 2-3 days a week, and the rest of the time I'm a stay at home dad. I have 2 daughters, 1 son, and 1 more on the way with my wife. My eldest daughter(Alexis) and son(Charlez) dont live with me, but my daughter(Olivia) and wife(Kerisa) do. I'm 22, work in a liquor store, play online games for more hours a day than should be humanly possible, and I'm an avid mountain dew ADDICT!!!! I wont clog this up more than it already is, so pictures can be found http://photobucket.com/albums/v302/ninjafox/ of all of us.

If you need anything just ask, as I'm usually full of game knowledge, or will do what I can to help you. Also, if ya know whats good for ya, and you wanna be one of the cool kids, then you'll get on Teamspeak....the game is 100x easier and much more fun when you can talk to the people your playing with.

You, my friend, have achieved my life goal. So your wife works full time and you are the stay at home dad? How does she like that?

  4. U my friend will now become a Legend, someone that will be song about in songs. Towns and villiages will be named after you and big kids will want to grow up to be just like you. Have your wife work full time and you stay at home to play WoW.....

  8. You'll have to ignore the fact that my wife couldnt work a flash on a camera for crap before I showed her how, but this is my daughter at 6 months being taught how to play Dark Age of Camelot....shes the zerg mez'r w/ my bard :) Also take note of that in one picture shes got her healthy supply of mountain dew (gamer fuel) and in the other she got a nice big bowl filled with not one...but TWO packets of Chicken flavored Ramen noodles. Smart girl!
