Welllll crap.

Looks like I got a new subscribbie.

 

Yeah...paying to play a game for 5 days doesn't seem to make much sense.

 

Nah. I see it as $5 to see if I want to blow another $50.

I just hate File Planet. I never download from them on principal alone.

 

But you will subscribe to their service to play a game for five days?

 

ehh, I'm a part of the "problem". I use fileplanet for convenience. They USED to be a great place to get things quickly when other sites would time out with the # of downloads of something "hawt" coming out (like the ut2k4 demo). Now with the new site layout, its less intuitive and I dont care for it.

Needless to say, I signed up and will be ready to play when I get home from work.

 

Downloaded it last night... when I get home I will try it out.

The whole principle of Pay2Play I can pretty much acknowledge... but 5 measly days! Are they out of their damn minds over there?

The fact that Turbine is based on the very company-plot, bought out originally by EA probably doesn't help, either.

30-day trials I can understand. They give players plenty of breathing room to develop a character and a profession of skills, where they can then, simply, upgrade it to a paid account, but if they seriously think that a 5-day client where you have to pay after that is a good way to break the mould... then I think Spork went dangerously from a firestorm into a hurricane as a change to another developer.

No. I think I'll wait until they make it the standard trial rate, thanks

you're not paying for the beta. you're paying to be a part of fileplanet. I already paid, and regularly subscribe to the service, so this is really nothing new to me.

Keep us posted on your thoughts of this game. I cancelled my Fileplanet subscription a couple of months ago.

If interest is high I will purchase the game come release.

 

Theres 3 servers up which is gonna be the CDL home for the week?

 

You no longer need to be a FP subscriber to participate in the stress test...... not sure if I will give it a go (have heard some interestingly bad things about this game).
