    wow, I never imagined they would make the multiplayer from one of the best horror-FPS of 2005 a free product :eek:

    I wonder how this will then affect FEAR: Extraction Point, and the sequel that Monolith has planned...

    The free multiplayer will generate lots of interest, so people will either go buy the full version, or the sequel.

    Loss leader FTW.. If your game isn't selling well (and I hear MP interest in FEAR has been minimal at best up to now), you haven't got much to lose; and way more to gain hooking people on the experience.

    I goofed around with the FEAR MP beta a while back, can't say I was totally impressed with it.

    I'm also reminded of a previous tactic by Sierra, just before Tribes: Vengeance was released, Tribes 1 and Tribes 2 became free.

    Well it'll probably be the equivalent of FEAR MP at the current patch-level, so there are plenty of game modes that all allows SloMo. It you don't like the maps that come with it, all the fan-created ones in the community work with it.
