    What do you think?

Think about it for a few....then I will tell you what I think.

Sounds like the fact that the victim was armed was an effective deterrent, and nobody got seriously hurt, which is a good thing. I'd say that's the best thing to have happen, but the best thing to have happen is for people to refrain from committing violent crimes in the first place. So, I guess it's the best thing to have happen under the circumstances, which seems to mostly be due to the victim's ability to stay collected and not panic in a stressful situation.

Exactly. The first two time he drew he said he had the shakes, but this time he knew that he was in control. He had the upper hand. Now, if one of the perps pulled a gun, this could have gotten real ugly, but I applaud the person in this piece for being calm and dilligent.

Man, these types of articles are going to make me think about taking up shooting!

    Good observations.

The one thing that stood out to me though, was how well he described these people.

Either he embellished when he wrote this, or it is all fake.

Granted, some people are very observant, but this seems to be a bit much detail.

Especially when he mentions "fat on his lower cheeks above the jaw line".

Could certainly have happened, but by putting in such detailed descriptions just makes it sound phony.

Here is something to look at.

What seems wrong in this story?

    http://www.whiotv.com/news/11496303/detail.html

Oh, as I have mentioned about biased news reporting. When this story first broke, they had the audio of the police officer on the scene saying "I need help, they are arguing and saying they are going to blow each others heads off".

Now check the video they have posted.

Video is worth watching for the mere fact the reporter chick is pretty cute!

Beyond that though, what is wrong here?

  7. The guy seems like he was in control the whole time but it definatly could have gotten really ugly if one of them pulled a gun on him. Not ugly he would have lost control, it seems if he was perceptive enough to have gotten a shot off before the weapon was in a firing position.

Besides the people he is describing sound like if they were carrying they wouldnt have the first clue as to how to acctualy use a fire arm properly. If it had happened I would think there would be some action movie attempt and the perp would wind up with a bullet in his torso.

  8. I have to say the person embellished a bit. There are very few people who remeber there assultants in such detail down to the assumed age, weight, clothign, ect. I remeber well in the millitary basic training as an mp, well in one of are classes they had 3 people run in the room with mask and guns , and do something wich at the time i cant rember (for this was many years ago) we where then told to right a report with a full description of the perps wich i have to say i failed miserably. :p i say all that just to say very few can keep it together well enough to gather all the information about the situation espically since this was only the third time he had ever had to even draw his weapon .

anyways glad it all worked out for the guy, and eventully those kids keep messing with people they are not always gonna be lucky eough for someone to keep there head as the man in this story did

he may have imbellished or maybe not.

Sometimes people have a tendency to fill in the blanks they can't remember with *something* that they believe to be entirely true.

Also, my husbands family has what is called a photographic memory. When my husband draws, it is just like looking at a photograph and they have an odd ability to remember details that others are not capable of, including entire pages of long numbers just from one glance. The military had a good time with this!

  10. You know Chuck... I kind of wondered about the level of detail myself. I'm not saying that it's not possible, but kind of unlikely unless the person was really concentrating during the incident. And with everything going on... there would be some vagueness.

Just like the whole Islamic Priest incident at that airport. How they could identify a Mr & Mrs John Doe(since they are now trying to sue the Doe's) that called the police/TSA on them when they were busy praying. Unless, they wanted to be noticed and then take note of who was watching them and possibly reporting them. That's whole thing smells like a stunt to me.

As far as the Dayton incident. The mother said the cop should have shot her son in the arm or someplace else, and not kill him. The cop did the right thing. Excuse me, you hit the target, the idea of "wounding" someone is what most of the public thinks should happen, it just not realistic. Those are the same folks that would sue the city/cop if they got injured or hurt because the bullet passed through the "wounding area" and hit them, or they got injured because the cop didn't totally stop the person doing the shooting.

Now, if the kid was brought up properly and had respect for authority, then when the cop showed up there would have be no incident. The weapon would have been laid down, and that would have been the end of the story. But NO... So, where's the parent's responsiblity here as well?
