  7. Ok, I hate to revive a dead thread. But, is it me, or is there something fishy with this guy. If you watch the vid again, you can see some parts where he switches from the shocklance to the disc in under a second after firing the shocklance. In game however, it normally takes a few seconds to switch. wtf is with that?

  8. something does seem fishy about the shock/disc thingy there..

  9. prolly so.......i was kind drunk when i saw it last, i'll view it again and see whats what.

I was on a server with the guy who made this movie and two of his teammates after the movie was done and it was one long-distance MA after another from all three of them, over and over. This went way beyond luck.

    hmmmmm.........

  12. I watched it again, you are right, there were some REALLY fast changes there (mostly from disc to shock though, i remember being suprised in one sequence in which he switched to shock even as he went strait at his skiing opponent and his opponent went strait at him, shocked him in the back, and was back to disc, all in about one second). And if queeny is correct, then we have a question, is it luck, or is it a script. If they have found a way to unlock the botaim scripting, that MIGHT be able to do the trick on a target moving at a fairly constant speed on a constant vector.

  13. #1. A *LOT* can be done with editing....
#2. I've often wondered how I can be found when I'm way the hell away from all else (those little red lines could be telling you something).
#3. I've been wondering about the feild of fire for the shock lance. I think it's a narrow cone and I think it is possible that the field of fire may have been increased, making for easier 'hits' as well....

#4. I will d/L the movie again and take another look myself...

    Raptor,

There are plenty of weapon changing scripts available. Here is just a short list of what I have seen.....

    1) Shock/Plasma switches from the SL to the Plasma after the shock is fired.

    2) Elf/Disk switches to the Disk as soon as you let up on the button (your elfing so you have the mouse button held down. As soon as you let up, it switches to the disk.)

    3) Target laser/Mortar switches to the mortar as soon as you let up on the Targeting laser (your holding down the mouse button to fire the targeting laser and as soon as you let off the button it switches to the mortar)

    4) Weapon A/Weapon B let's you define what weapon you want to auto switch to after firing weapon A.

    5) I have also seen a sniper script that Automatically switches to your sniper rifle when you zoom in, and back to you previous weapon when you let go of zoom. that way you can always have your disk in hand, but when you need to snipe just zoom in and your ready to go. No more cycleing through before the shot.

but dane, do those scripts eliminate the normal delay between firing or switching weapons? The problem I have is when someone uses a script to switch back and forth between weapons to intentionally eliminate the normal firing delay and when someone uses a script to switch to a weapon they have no intention of firing, to eliminate the delay of firing another weapon.

Most of the... we'll call them "scripts" that eliminate the weapon delay switch you first to a weapon such as the chaingun, that you have no intention of firing. There's no delay to fire your chaingun because it takes a second for the chaingun to wind up and actually fire a round, but people have exploited this feature.

This means if you want to rapid fire the rocket launcher, you fire a rocket, your script rapidly switches to chaingun, then back to rocket launcher and you fire again. Viola! almost no delay between firing rounds.

You can also use a rapid switch to laser rifle and back to another weapon since there is no firing delay for the laser rifle, either. I guess that's a good excuse to carry a shocklance, laser rifle, disk loadout...in that order. :(

This is how people were able to rapid fire disks in T1. It was explained in detail to me on a server once when a player offered to give me the script he had written for this purpose. I turned him down because that's blatant cheating in my opinion.

I don't know if the change the fireing delay be defualt, but I am sure useing the guidlines that you pointed out it could easily be done.

I've never used one of these scripts because i didn't see a use for it.

  17. Actually, in this case i am not even referring to firing delay, normally there is a delay in weapon change time which seemed to have been basically cut out completely. And dane, i am aware of those scripts.

  18. ...I believe the delay is the "load-time".
You cannot cycle to the next weapon until the weapon in your hand reloads.

At least that's what the deal was in T1, and I believe that is how it works for T2 (hence the mortar spaming using the Invos...)
