Looking to join

Discussion in 'The Dragon Wolves Recruitment Forum' started by Donnovan, 14 Aug 2003.

  1. I have been looking for a good outfit to join, as I much prefer team play to solo. A well organized and disciplined squad makes the game 100 times more enjoyable. Krewg told me about this outfit and said you were a great group of people. I know Krewg from Shadowclan, and I trust his judgement completely. I got in a CDL squad a few nights ago, I couldn't follow the gameplan really well, since I didn't have Teamspeak, but I went were I was told to go and had alot fun performing my given task. Being given orders, and completing an objective is much more rewarding to me than simply running around shooting at everything that moves!

I am a battle rank 6 sniper with advanced targeting and reinforced armor. I gained my 6 ranks exclusively by sniping, so I've gotten pretty good at it and absolutely love it. \

I won't join a group unless I can commit myself to it... I'm wasting my time and their time otherwise. My busy schedule does not allow me to play as often as I want, but once I'm in a group, I tend to stick with it (I've been with Shadowclan for 5 years and am still with them in other games). I'm hoping you would rather have a long term member that plays once or twice a week rather than a member that plays every day for a month then quits.

I should be able to make many Tuesday nights and some Saturday afternoon events, depending on school and family obligations. I also play in the mornings sometimes and very late Mondays and Tuesdays, in case other CDL play then.

If you wish to have me in your outfit, there is one thing I need to know: I have spent all the cert points I need to be a good sniper, what should I spend my remaining points on in order to best benefit CDL if I become a member?

Another Shadowclan member? Sweetness! I'd be known as Tobak.

As far as my impression of CDL, they are the clan of FPS, and I can't say anything less then my experiance being mind-blowing awsome. Expect the same and better then what the clan has to offer.

For the cert thing, its your pref. After you squad up a few times you'll get a feel for how everyone plays, and you'll figure out your nitch. If your looking for suggestions, Max's are always nice. ;) Like I said, your pref.

  3. You trust Krewg? Damn son not sure I like that.;)

    welcome bro.

  4. Okay... well... if nobody has any preferences as to my remaining certs.. how about some input as to what would go well with sniper?

My first instinct was to take Medic, since I spent 95% of my Shadowclan time playing healer classes, but then I thought being a sniper I would spend most of my time on top of a building alone watching for enemies and reporting to my squad (or quietly taking headshots :) ) This is not conducive to healing which would require following the squad around... better save that for a second character....

So what Cert would go well with Sniper and benefit the outfit? My other ideas are some type of pilot... my joystick is getting rusty... maybe heavy artillery.. something that makes big holes in the ground or enemy vehicles... preferably with lots of fire and smoke...

Maybe I'll just hang with CDL for a while and see what we tend to be short on most often and train in that.

    Hail and well met!

Yes, your best bet is to hang with a few -CDL- troops. Our biggest night of participation is Tuesday and sometimes Saturday. That way you may best get a feel of what is needed! Look forward to squadding with you soon. :)

Hail! And look forward to squadding up with you sometime.

  7. Medics are always nice.

I know that Incompetent, Mani, Sieldan and myself are at least advanced medics but those are hard to find at times and die quickly.;)

If your looking for something to drive, Marauder is the way to go. Its fast, and it can roll over 90% of the terrain and take the mile long drops with very little damage more often then not. The only real draw back is driver can't gun. I doubt that you'd have any trouble finding a gunner or 2 though ;)

  12. Puuuhhhleaeeze.

When you learn to make a nurse's outfit combat ready and STILL sexy come talk to me.

    Oh wait, wrong forum. Damn.

  13. Welcome donnovan!

My suggestion is to cert whatever you enjoy the most or whatever you are good at. I'd rather have a great sniper instead of a crappy medic!

Tuesdays at 8pm....the highlight of my week ! see you there!
