Phoenix's Application

Discussion in 'The Dragon Wolves Recruitment Forum' started by PhoenixBourne, 20 Dec 2003.

  1. Hello, my name is PhoenixBourne. Well no, it's Rory, but my character's called PhoenixBoune.

I was looking at the planetside-universe site and noticed that article recently posted about the past and present of planetside by Manitou. He mentioned this clan a fair bit so I figured it was pretty important. Anywho, I typed in dragonwolves.com and was greeted with a spectacular intro. I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but someone who puts that much effort into just the intro for his site is someone who I'd love to play aside. Manitou said what a great clan this is and I'd love to be a part of it. I am hoping to get planetside this christmas, and If I do, then the first thing I'd be doing is joining this clan. Well, it would probably be playing around with the guns and veichles in the santuary. But after that, it would be the first thing I'd be doing. I am part of a Star Wars Galaxies based clan and if you check out the forums: http://www.crossbones.org/skullboard then you can see I am a very active poster, and our guild is based on the same grounds as yours.

In closing, fighting along side you all would be an honour. I have always been the back up in games. In SWG, I am always ready to be called out when ever a doctor is needed, and the same would be for planetside, both in Medic terms and whenever a pilot is needed. Of course, I guess you alreayd have pilots, but one more can't hurt... unless I crash it into someone. then it might hurt.... but I doubt that would happen. Well, maybe if I was drunk...

    Hail and well met PhoenixBourne!

It looks like you will be an excellent fit in our clan. Good luck in the application process. We conduct outfit wide operations nights every Tuesday starting at 8pm. Check to see if any of us are in-game and send them a /tell. They'll hook you up with the right people to get an outfit invite.

I look forward to squadding with you and having your unique talents used against the scourge of Auraxis.

  3. Woo! Unique Talents! Do I just meet you guys and join. I'd like to see how you fight first. :D My tactic tends to be, If it's an enemy - Kill it. I do have honour in my kills, but if I can blow it up, I will.

  4. Just simply track one of us down in game on Emerald and send us a tell. We'll get ya in squad then go from there. We tend to not "jump" at a player but rather we want quality in our PS players rather than quantity like some outfits operate. Now how Sentrosi made it in I've no idea. :D

Good luck Phoenix, we could use some more air cav peeps.

  5. I haven't even got the game yet :D But when I do, and I've got my air skills, I'll join ya. I want to progress my medic skills as well.

  6. Medics - especially advanced medics - are greatly appreciated. And if one is an air cav member? Even better.

My 2 ingame nicks are KaozReign and DorianGray allbeit just Kaoz can invite to the outfit. Look forward to seein ya ingame chief.

  7. Yeh, I like to play a medic since you get to meet alot of people, and you get very popular in the heat of battle (with your allies; the enemies don't seem to like that MAX guy they managed to take down coming back to life).

  14. I have three questions:

    1) What's the best way to get xp to get other certifications?
    2) Are galaxy's really as hard as I've heard to fly?
    3) Where's the soda machine?

  15. Best way to get XP? Find the squad we have running into a good sized battle.

Galaxy's hard to fly? Not really. They just don't corner well or stop on a dime.

Soda machine? Beats me. I only know where the bar is.

  16. By good sized, do you mean the squad out numbering the offendors/defenders?

I would suggest when you get the game is to go into the VR training. Go through the Shooting Range level. Here is where you'll learn all about the different weapons of destruction the TR use against the terrorists. Next, go into the vehicle training area. Here is where you'll familiarize yourself with all the vehicles that deal destruction and rain down death for us Terrans.

Go into each vehicle, fire all guns on it. By this time you should be BR3 and close to BR4, giving you 6 cert points. Use these six by going to a certification terminal and select (probably) the air cavalry cert (3 points) and medium assault (2 points). This leaves you with one cert point.

Go to your map and find where the heaviest concentration of TR are. Go join the battle and ask to be formed up into a squad. If one of us are on, we'd be more than happy to squad up with ya and show you the ropes in-game.

Once squadded up with people, you'll be able to leech some of their XP off onto your character. You still have to participate in the battle, for it would be dishonorable to hide in a corner gathering all the XP you don't truly deserve. A couple of base caps should put you at or near BR6. Once you get to BR6, you get to receive your first implant.

If you are going to be a pilot, I highly suggest using the advanced targetting implant. This allows you to see the damage to any enemy vehicle or soldier. It'll make it easier to see how much more you need to kill this person/vehicle.

Also, at BR6, you should get the Medical Certification. This is your first step into becoming a Medic. Medics cannot raise the dead, I believe. They can only use the medical applicator. You'll need 2 more cert points to become an Advanced Medic (BR8). Once you reach BR8, the rest of the choices are your own to make.

  18. Wow, so the VR training actually lets you gain battle rank? Thanks for all the help, I look forward to fighting beside you, once I get these damn components for my new computer. I'm self employed so I have to be sure I have the money before I get the components.

  19. Hmm, Ya.. you can gain about 3 levels in the VR training.. probably a little bit more if you get the core-combat add-on. (adds vehicles and weapons). What Sentrosi said was right, find the 'zerg' of TR (chances are CDL will be in there somewhere) and then you can start learning the ropes of trying to take on a base. :) I still remember the days when there must've been at least 200 people sitting in a little area all shooting at the other empires. *laughs* Speaking of which - what's Core Combat priced at now-a-days? If it's cheap, I might just go get it and join you guys on tuesday or something...

Well met Phoenix, hope to meet you in-game some day. :) Until then, join us on irc @ irc.planetside-universe.com:6667 - This is where we sit most of the time. :)
