Does anyone else get involved in power hours?

    If you don't, the basic principle is take one shot of beer every minute for 60 minutes. That works out to be about 7 beers in an hour. People think it's easy... It's not... neccesarily.

    It's especially not easy when you go out to the bar and then come home and do one. I'll justify that right now.

    Yes, power-hours are a great way to spice up a night of drunken fun. Usually whoever was watching the clock and calling out the times to drink, would end up losing their concentration..... and to make up for it we would have to take a bunch of shots in a row. ;)

    We had found what we thought would be the perfect table for power-hours..... it was a glass table with a clock "in" the table. The only problem there was no second hand :( You gotta have access to the second count!

    Something similar to the Century Club - drink 100 beers (not full but varying in size) in a set time frame which I forget what that was. Now THAT was brutal.

    But then again I used to mess people up with my "Bitch" Line of drinks. Basically I'd mix everything I found on a countertop after starting with something like Coke, Dr Pepper or Sprite. The best I ever made was the "Blonde Bitch" - 1/2 sprite with Tom Collins mix, Midori, Schmirnoff Citrus Vodka mixed in.

    Main Street Bar Crawls. Best night of drinking and debauchery.

    Start on one end of town, and work your way straight down to the other end hitting all the bars along the way. If you live in Wisconsin (which I did) this could be one serious night.

    My home town of Fond du Lac's Main Street has one bar that starts on the northern end of the city and a hotel on the southern end of the city. Goal of the night is to make it to the one rented out hotel room first. No help along the way either. The last bar is about a good mile away from the hotel.


    Reign. I'll see your blonde bitch and raise you a 3 wiseman shot (Jim, Jack and Jose), mix it with some extra sharp ginger brandy, and then chase it with a Mind Eraser.

    Bah, trying to watch a clock and keep track of the time can be difficult. Friends of mine came up with a solution to this.

    Download a mp3 trimmer/editor. Find 60 songs you enjoy. Cut out one minute snippets of each song. Burn the 60 one minute tracks to a cd. Insert in your cd/dvd/Xbox or whatever and ta-da, each time the song changes you drink. A lot of initial work, but it's more interesting then staring at a clock for an hour, heh.

    I thought the 3 Wisemen was Jack/Jim/Johnnie and the 4 Horsemen was Jack/Jim/Johnnie/Jose. Both are potent though. I'm a big fan on the ole Irish Car Bomb - Take a half cup of Guinness and a shot glass with Jamison and Baileys in it, drop the shot into the Guinness and chug. Most people think it tastes like mocha, chocolate milk, etc.

    Using a song cd to drink by is a good idea! :drunk:

    As of late, I have grown a kindship with jeger. Jeger bombs are good too (shot of jeger and redbull). Might get me a bottle for new years eve. :cheers:

    the movie dazed and confused, everytime that kid touches his nose between his eyes, take a drink. sorta similar to the bob newhart game when watching the bob newhart show, where everytime someone said "bob" you take a drink.

    just a few that i 'know' ;) of.

    Donkey - tell me how many consecutive shots of Jaeger you can take with a beer chaser. I did 8 once before I bailed out of the contest - which a fraternity brother won after doing 14 shots.

    Now Honey Jaeger, that rocks. I may have to snag some myself. What type of Redbull - that energy drink? And if so how much per shot?

    oh War here's a Christmas drinking game that will get ANYONE messed up in under 30 minutes:

    The Grinch Drinking Game.

    How to play:
    The first 15 minutes - you drink for every bad thing the Grinch does. This includes each seperate lashing with the whip not just 1 for the entire whipping session. You'll need a sober, non-player for this game.

    The 2nd 15 minutes - you drink for every good thing the Grinch does once he turns from his evil ways.

    I played years ago and was toasted before we even got to the "Good" part.

    I've never really went one-on-one with ol' jeger..... If it is time for shots, I go with Jack Daniels..... ;)

    As for the redbull to jeger ratio..... we usually do a quarter can of redbull for every shot of jeger. Redbull is some expensive stuff (compared to other mixers), so it is used sparingly.

    Jager(best if frosty) and Redbull(yes the energy drink) as a shot, referred to around here as Jager Bombs, are good stuff. Taste like Smarties candy. Jager and Redbull as a regular mixed drink is good also, you just get fooked up usually. heh.

    Damn straight, Redbull is way expensive. If you're casually drinking Jager and Redbull at home it'll probably cost you more then a night of getting wasted at the bar.

    Now that I've had time to reflect on my posting behaviour... I realized that:

    1) I should not drink before doing a power-hour
    2) I should eat pasta instead of drinking beer. It's more filling.
    3) NEVER try to outdrink a 280 pound man in a power-hour.
    and lastly,
    4) I should never be allowed to drink again. *lol*

    *phew* Last night was a rough go... chips and beer are good the first time around.. the second though...
