    Interesting sites...

I admit I am a geek. I find this stuff fascinating, regardless if it's a hoax or legit. The thoeries and predicitions presented by Titor are compelling to say the least. Especially the expressed fact of the US plunging into another Civil War (City vs Country), pressing the point is that Russia comes to the aide of the winners (after clean nuking China and some of Europe).

His prediction of CERN advancing theories in singularities and related topics is interesting. Keep in mind that the chat logs state he presented his prediction in 2000 and then CERN (a year later) states new theories and ideas almost identical to what Titor stated.

Scientific analysis aside. Hoax or not, he drives many valid arguments about the current nature of society. He insults the current average population as being lazy sheep. I personally tend to agree. Environmental and socio-political concerns were brought up. Due to this, I find myself rethinking my current perceptions of society in general and especially the geo-political climate.

Truth: There is much compelling evidence to support his claims and predictions... Which if true, 2015 is going to be one hell of a year.

Hoax: There is no discernible evidence as of yet. However, many postulate that the entire thing is a scam, although hard evidence to back the skeptics has yet to be provided.

  2. Very Interesting

But i have to Believe that if this was really possible more people takeing advantage of it would be seen. Im sure not all the people of his time era are as nice and just as he acts so you would see people who knew all the answers makeing themselfs rich or powerful.

  3. Hrm...It's all very interesting. There are lots of loopholes and unanswered questions however. He never predicted anything that would happen within the time that he was supposedly on his mission.

And though this is just one little thing...

What are the other time traveler's destinations, and missions?

I am not aware of the details of other missions. Of the seven, three had already left before I did. I suspect they are on similar missions.

^^^Earlier he said these missions take a fraction of a second. So wouldn't those three that had already left been back by then? Though some of the stuff he said has some supporting evidence, it's usually the kind of thing anyone can predict and have a high probability of being correct. I guess the only way we will be able to tell if this guy was real or not is if a civil war breaks out next year...

I think he's accurate on the WWIII in 2015 though. I think the world is just itching to have another world war.

All in all, it's a pretty interesting thing to read about, if you want to believe it or not. Something to read if you're bored :p

I personally think time travel is possible, but only going forward. In fact you can do it right now if you wanted. Get out of your chair and start walking. You're going forward in time faster than you would if you're sitting in your chair, the difference is just so small that it isn't noticable. The faster you move, the slower time goes. So if you were to somehow move at light speed for (I'm not sure what or if there even is a known equation for comparing the time that goes by while at light speed and normal time) a certain amount of time and then stop, you'd be in the future, be it a few days, years, centuries, the possibilities are endless, simply depending on how long you stay at the speed of light. Going back in time however I can't really believe. It may just be because I see our existance as a here and now sort of thing. There IS no past besides people's memories of it. That is, however the likely reason in itself why people would find going back in time impossible to believe. It all depends on what we establish as "fact". Through our logic, mass cannot be created nor destroyed. But perhaps our logic is not entirely correct? There are many laws that if proven to not be true, could change the way we think about the universe. If mass really can be created or destroyed, it would give insight to where the material from the big bang came from.

    Just something to think about...

  4. There are some many holes in the time travel theory to begin with. Never mind the issue of changing time lines. If you think that the quantum theory is correct then in the process of changing the past you change and create several different time lines. Let’s say this person is from the future. What he talked about was his past not necessarily our future.

On the other hand many physicists believe that if you went back in time that you could not change or effect the past in any way. You could only see it but not interact or change it.

There are causeality (SP) loops that arise in dealing with time travel. If you sat and thought about it would drive you nuts.

It’s a nice hoax with enough details to lure you in and by the looks of it sell books.

  5. Actually I was talking with classmates about it today. Lots of the details he used are from books. The "dual microsingularities encased in a magnetic shell" comes from the book "Timeline", as is the "multiple worldlines" idea, and the fact that this guy is from central Florida in a post nuclear war setting is from "Alas Babylon". Those are just 2 examples I have, there were more but I can't remember them. I think this guy was actually just a really imaginative guy that went to great lengths to make a hoax sound real.

I think it's just way too much to be a coincidence that a lot of what he said is EXACTLY the same in some books that I've read.

On that note, check out Timeline, it's actually a pretty good book.

    Oh yeah forgot to add...

John Titor's time machine is a 1950's vintage Civil Defense Set, used in fallout shelters to detect radiation in the air and on people. Basically a 1950s version of one of these.

I'd imagine it was a scheme to make money as a book "published by his parents" is being sold on amazon here.

Though it is indeed a very interesting thing to read about to kill time, it is a hoax.

Well this might come as a shock to some of you...... but I am infact from another time.

My first prediction/memory of the past: CDL con 2004 was the event that set off the chain of events that would eventually lead to the end of mankind.

I can only theorize it had something to do with Reign's pants and Hamma's love fest in the jacuzzi.

The missing beer can was a factor as well.

Is it just me or if this guy really did go back in time why does he not try and save the 3 billion people instead of goofing on the internet in chat boards? I personally think he is a goof with a wild imagination and a lot of time on his hands with his parents computer. I can travel in time so all I want to do is go on internet chatrooms! I can't believe people are so desperate for something to believe in that they take hoaxsters like this seriously, I don't mean to offend anyone in CDL or anyone reading this but I think this whole thing with the time traveller is just SAD! If you ever do any kind of reading in the theories of time travel and Chaos theories you would know that any form of tampering with past events will ultimately have profound implications on the future, meaning everytime he posted he could have put in motion events that could change his future and his families futures to point he wiped them out. For a time traveler he was not to bright!

  12. Time travel if at all possible doesn't change the past or the future....the future exists because of eveything we do. If someone goes back in time the time line stays the same because the future is dependant on him going back IE: bob goes back to stop a nuclear war but the future is the way it is because bob was already in the past so no change can happen........

thats another way to think of it. Teperal theory is a fun subject ;)

  13. WTH Mani!
I wasn't the one that misfired when he tossed the beer can into the Jacuzzi. That was Mars. :D

As for the pants, well they come off when I hit Orange Blossom Trail.
    :p

That thought is contradicting firez. Using your example the bob in the future wouldn't go back in time to stop the nuclear war because in never happened in the same timeline.

  15. Kaikou -
    - I believe the actual theory is that the faster you move, the slower times goes for YOU.

(E.g.) I remember a show on PBS (Either an Albert Einstein or Carl Sagan thing about explaining time, space and math stuff) that had Peter Ustinov in it. He (Peter Ustinov) traveled to a nearby star or planet and orbited this object near the speed of light. In video messages (correspondence) with his twin, the messages from space to earth, when viewed were very slow, yet the video transmissions from Earth to space, were very fast.
When the twin in space returned, his advancement of age seemed negligible, yet his twin had aged considerably.

  16. That's what I meant. If one were to go off into space and travel at light speed (or near light speed) and come back to earth, years will have gone by on earth when it has only been days to this person that has been going near the speed of light. Hence you travel into the future. So depending on how long you stay going really fast, there's almost no limit in how far into the future you can travel.

  17. Groovy... Just making sure / clarification is all.
You're new sig is pretty cool. What happened to the Anime one?

    ~PM~

My answering machine is broken, so my refrigerator will take the calls. Remember to please speak very slowly, and it will stick your message to itself with one of those magnets...

  18. I rotate sigs. I think I have about 13 different sigs right now. I need to find a host for a php script so it can load a different sig each time you hit refresh..
