Actually, this game is more appealing to me than WoW is. I am a HUGE LotR fan and if they keep going in the direction they seem to be going from what I have read here, I may be hooked on this one.

I am eager to see how the beta testers react to it.

Jeez Mani I beat you yet again in plugging in a game (by about an entire year) :D http://www.dragonwolves.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5207

I too am very interested in this game; the systems in it seem to be original compared to other MMOs. Such as the system that allows your character to "train" in a skill even when you are offline. They even have the Elves with a different economic system (like in the book) than the rest of the races.

I figured someone beat me to it. :)

This game has much promise to be out of the ordinary. I am kind of excited about it. If it is like the site reads, I will be playing it.

  7. It is looking interesting, but i am a blizzard addict. WoW for me.

  8. The latest from the devs is 2005 for release. The earliest beta will begin is September, but I'm not optomistic for that. I've been watching this closely and I think it will be fun!

Well some 50 lucky few I believe, have recently won access to the closed beta testing stage. At least they aren't rushing it though; it's smart to take your time creating a game based on the best selling books with the exception of the bible for over 30 some years.

  10. the skill system seems to be similar to eve, and i enjoy that one because you cant get lvl99! in a week. Im looking at mercenery, Tyrant, or maybe a Dwarf Beserker. PROTECT YOUR SHINS!!!

I believe they are still working on the classes, last time I checked their website (which was a few months ago) human only had the hunter and sage class. I highly doubt that all the other races will only have one class.

My bet is that the Elves will be the most played race, then Humans, then Dwarves, and then Hobbits.

  12. Ivan

I've been looking into it but not very often. I think it might turn out ok. I have a thing for Dwarfs. :brow:

  13. funny in the races pics that have for men a pic of a woman

  14. PROTECT YOUR SHINS!!! i might actually go dwarf

  15. i will buy it and test it out with you all, if I like it sweet and if not well I can say I played with my fellow brothers.

  16. Mani - being the fan of Tolkien I am (I own The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, the LOTR series and Unfinished Tales of Middle Earth) you can bet I'll buy it. Problem is release date is now sometime around February of next year. Beta will probably hit within a month or 2 but I will be signing up for it.

I'm game if CDL starts a guild in MEO.

  17. They need to give out more info. About crafting and such, before i think about thinking about it.

  18. game sounds kinda interesting on a lot of levels but the fact that you don't have any playable dark races is quite disturbing. I mean...what fun is it if you can't play the uru-kai or orc/goblins, trolls or wild men? This just disturbs me because I am a long time player with shadowclan and I love Role playing the orcs and ogres, etc. I most likely will be buying this because of the title and many interests from CDL but kinda leary on it.

No there is no "good" or "bad" race. Depending on what you do in your missions determines your level of good or bad (like in Knights of the Old Republic). Being bad allows you to become a different class and equip different items than being good. For example if you were playing as a Man Hunter and you were evil in you missions, you would become an assassin instead of a ranger. Also good players and bad players can't go to all of the same towns as each other.

  20. ok...that has some nice possibilities.
