PSU/Hammas Hammers-Beta player doing Trial

Discussion in 'The Dragon Wolves Recruitment Forum' started by Grey_Ghost, 26 Sep 2004.

  1. I was a member of the early phases of closed beta for PS. I hooked up with the PSU outfit through BrileyPS which eventually turned into "Hammas Hammers". I am currently on a 7 day trial, and I am not sure if I will buy the game. However I've yet to experience playing in a real Outfit so far in this trial.

So far my experiences have mirrored the end of Beta to a T. Such as being constantly invited to an outfit without so much as a word. Joining random squads who never talk to eachother, and are spread to the four corners of a continent. People yelling for gunners, yet kicking you out once you get in. People with passenger vehicles that don't pick up any passengers. So far the game has been a real downer.

So I was standing in a Warpgate for a half hour yesterday (only place to go was full) and I remembered the only time I had fun playing PS (Win or Lose) was being a grunt in Hammas Hammers. Basically I am looking for a reason to like this game, so here I am. I have a few days left on my trial, and I'm not sure if I can use any other type of trial after it's over.

I came here to see if I could be given a preview of the Outfit/teamwork side of things before I give up on PS. I'm sure there is a good reason why some of the PSU people are a part of this Outfit. My handle in the game is "GREYGH0ST" with a Zero in Gh0st (GreyGhost was taken).

  2. Manitou

    Manitou Old War Horse DragonWolf

Look for me and or a few others who can recruit. I will be honest, we don't usually take less than a few weeks to review recruits, as we are very selective in who we approve as a Dragon Wolf. We have a lot of heritage and tradition within this team.

I was with the beta group that included Hamma and Briley and a few others. You will find that the Dragon Wolves are somewhat similar to that experience, but dare I say we are more of that experience. (Hamma is the assistant leader of this team.)

Look us up. I also frequent the game as OttoMatik, so watch for that name as well as Manitou.

Hope to see you in game.

  3. Thanks for the peek at organized Outfit combat. I crashed to the desktop when leaving Ascension in the Gal and Launchpad wouldn't even let me get to the login (said it couldn't load Expiration Images). SOE said I had another day, and oddly enough it let me login today.

I enjoyed it, even though I didn't really know what to do with myself half the time. When you first start using TS it can get a little confusing not knowing who is saying what as well. I definitely need more practice at Tower Jumping, but I came pretty close one time.

If I do come back I'll be happy to go through your normal recruitment process if you like. Now I'll just wait and see if COMPUSA gets Aftershock.

  4. PS has changed a great deal since its cxonception in the Beta... some for the better, some not, but this is a regular thing with most MMOs. Now with the nearing-release of the BFRs in the Aftershock Bundle, I would say business is definitely about to pick up.

As for not knowing who says what in the game, I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm usually the guy with the British accent.

A tip before you start joining outfits, though. What I did before I hooked up with the CDL is go to outfit-sites, read their history in gaming and their views toward new players wanting to gain experience, and finally spend some time in the IRC to see how they contributed in the community... in my case I still believe I made the correct choice.

As you might have seen, some of us did a gig with the PS devs earlier this year in their PSU Mobilisation Alpha, and another is planned next year. Having the CDL connected to one of the leading PlanetSide communities on the Net does give you the advantage that your opinions will be considered, rather than some sites who love the sound of their own voice and no-one else's.

We perform Ops Nights every week - sometimes in "co-operation" with other outfits (I use the term loosely) - and then sometimes we just have fun by making trouble for the other factions, until we get booted out of their continent couple of times. Occassionally we also go down in the caverns. You'll find an excellent crew, no... a family here at the CDL who will listen to your problems and try and help out. That is more than you can expect from most outfits these days.

It's up to you. Consider what I have said, and if you still want to be a part of one of the best outfits for DAoC and PlanetSide, make your official mark in the "Recruitment" area, and the trial will begin.
