  1. A huge icon of my youth passed away yesterday. I was very surprised at the feeling of melancholy that rose up when I learned of Gary Gygax's passing. I spent countless hours enjoying his creation.
    God speed!

  2. Manitou

    Manitou Old War Horse DragonWolf

    Wow... sad indeed.

  3. I Thought he had already passed? :( Sad indeed.

I still have all my 2nd edition manuals and quite a few modules.

  4. The man who brought us Baldur's Gate... Very sad.

  5. I just read about his passing this afternoon myself. Sad indeed.

I never played 1st edition, but I'd say my 3.5 experience was better than 2nd edition. I'm not sure how I feel about 4th edition, but we'll see.

    symen DragonWolf

Very sad. I still have a bunch of first and second edition stuff as well, in addition to my 3.5 stuff.

He certainly had an impact on my life...

I think that this comic: Order of the Stick Tribute to Gygax pretty much sums it up for a lot of people. It's truly amazing how many people played that game, even in an age of computers and the internet.

  8. I remember first playing years ago when I was 12. The first Dungeons and Dragons Box...long past.
