...the opposing army captain's head on a pole."

I recalled this quote from Mani's signature in these forums as I started to swat flies and bugs away from our late-inspired picnic in the backyard this afternoon. I then caught myself wondering how I was going to narrow down the captain on this battlefield.

If he was French, he would have already surrendered to the Reich.
If he was Russian, he would wait til millions of his soldiers died before coming out into the open.
If he was Japanese, he would probably be buzzing my head right now shouting "BANZAI!"
If he was British, he would not have attacked me with so many, because he had so few to spare.
If he was American I would already be dead by now.

By now the bugs had gotten to us and we had to duck into the house for cover. But I was still pondering all of this even as we ate what was left of our picnic lunch. I went so far as to think of how and where I'd place that pole.

So is this what normal people think of on beautiful Sunday afternoons late in August? Been almost 9 years since I've had a chance to think this way.
