Another reason I hate old senile coworkers.

So here I am, on my day off. It's a saturday, yet it is not my house.
I'm walking to work with a -14'C base temperature, and winds making it feel like -25'C. I spend 25 minutes walking to work in this shit.
I get to work, and talk with a coworker whom I'm supposed to train in the dept. that I used to work in. The Dairy Dept.
This coworker knows basically what he's doing because he worked dairy at another store, so I just tell him to go ahead on his own.
I then go back into the cooler and look around, and said.. "This cooler looks like shit", and then set off to organize it. The so-called 'manager' (really a coworker who has more experience in the dept. than me) has ZERO organizational skills, so it was up to me and the dairy newbie to figure out where stuff was. I knew where everything was, but he didn't.

After about 2 hours working in there, it's starting to take shape.. not beautiful yet, but a little bit better. I took a break.
Came back, continued working in the cooler for another 2 hours.... by this time it's around 12:30ish, so it's lunch time for me. Spend an hour eatting grub and talking with coworkers.
Spend another 2 hours, reorganizing and I'm almost done.. take another break.
Another hour later and I'm done. You can find stuff easily now. Every box has been labeled appropriately, and even the new trainee didn't need me to tell him where stuff was.
Spend a half hour helping the new trainee on the counters, then go and work in grocery for a little while, then go home.

I spent 7 hours in that cooler reorganizing it, making it easy to find stuff.

Sunday rolls around, and they call me in to work again, but I was asleep, mother picked it up, and said I had plans today (didn't have any. Just didn't want to wake me up).

Monday (today) comes around. Around 2ish today, I found out my so-called 'manager' got really pissed off that I reorganized the cooler. Everything was generally in the same spot it was, but every product was put with the same product. He was pissed that he couldn't find anything. Even after I labelled everything.

He's probably in his 50's or 60's, has roughly zero education, and has a lot of pet-peaves.

He's angry at me because I made it easier for him to find stuff.
I sacrificed a day off to train a new guy and reorganize a cooler, and he's pissed at me.
I work my ass off FOR HIM, and he's pissed at me.
He yells at me FOR HIS mistakes, and now I'm pissed at him.

Today, I have to work. Around him, and not directly under him. (working grocery instead of dairy). If he starts giving me shit, I'm going to give it right back.

I do NOT bust my ass off for the benefits of others, only to be yelled at.

Fucking conservative senile old bastard. The day he doesn't come back to work is the day that cooler finally becomes fully organized.
