That's a fairly creative practical joke.

On a serious note, I live a couple of miles from a maximum security prison. I don't worry about it -- if anyone does manage to get out, they're going to want to be a lot farther away than I am in a hurry.

I grew up near a minimum-security facility (there's a prison of some kind every few miles across this part of the state -- they love to build them up here for some reason). When I was a kid, someone did manage to escape. He got about 10 feet from the building before getting attacked by a bear that was foraging in a dumpster. Hasn't happened since. :p

  4. While this is a joke this jackass who owns this land has now began to piss off WW2 Vets that have retired on land that was given to them by there parents ala dating back well over 100 yrs. Had met an gentleman today who has a wife with cancer lives on social security and works at Walmart 2 days a week to make ensmeat. He had told me that when he walked on the land to see the sign up close and personal the owner yelled at him and told him to get lost or he beat him.

I am curious if there is a legal course that can make this jerk remove the sign, he sure is on the wrong path to making any friends in the hood.

 I know which prison you are talking about, drive past it occasionally on the way to Canada.

I always wondered why there were so many prisons up there as well and I realised, who in their right mind wants to escape up there - where is there to go? :p

So what you're saying is you believe the landowner who posted this sign has malicious intentions? Is he intentionally deceiving landowners around him to perceive their property as worthless and as a liability that they should sell quickly for a low price or abandon?

Do you know anything else about the guy who put this sign up? Is he a land developer of any sort?

Call the local paper to do a story. That's the first step toward reassuring people in the area that their land is fine and the reporters might uncover something even more interesting about future plans for the land.... That will take away any power this sign has...Then bring it up with the city council and see about getting the sign removed.

    (It's what I'd do) <3

If you're worried about his sign, you could make a bigger one advertising a national park or something that's coming and post it in your yard. :p

Free speech is the right to openly say what you believe without fear of being punished....Does this man really believe there is a correctional facility coming? Somehow I doubt that. :p~
