So some of you know this, and some of you don't, but for a while a small team I'm part of is developing a game. Originally this was a mod the team developed for several years, but the limitations of the engine and real-life troubles meant the project was mothballed.

Now some old senior team members and a new direction have given rise to a greater purpose – to open the door where friends and family with disabilities can play. To accomplish this, we’ve opted to ship it on Xbox One and PC with Kinect as the prime controller; no fist-bumping crap you’ve seen from Mass Effect 3, but proper control where you interact with the virtual world as you might in a mixed fitness title. This project is to be released as “seasons” of bite-size, hour long episodes where you have to pay for episodes and supplementary content, but this is more to help us to keep developing it for everybody.

We plan to host a Kickstarter event later this year, to help secure funds for an indie engine license and other resources, and I hope to start an EngD this year to handle the disability-based features, but what we really need are personnel. Right now we are looking for people who can put fully textured meshes into the game, or CryEngine 3 level designers to help with building the landscapes. We also want concept artists to help us flesh out new ideas we’re coming up with for the core gameplay of our episodes.

Now I know most of you don’t have consoles, but this is our prototype to develop a catalogue of games for different age-ranges, to challenge the industry to support those with disabilites. If you believe you can help us, please reply here and I will get to you individually.
