Call from Iraq suspends kid -- AKA --- OMG - yes another post

  1. Found this news bite:

Um, ok, another completely egregious one to file in the why-public-school-sucks scrapbook; Kevin Francois of Spencer High in Columbus, Georgia, was suspended for the rest of the school year for refusing to hang up on a cellphone call from his mother, a soldier positioned in Iraq for over a year. Did we mention he took the call during his lunch break? Granted, it was against school rules to talk on the phone during session hours, but let’s get real here. Hey, just one quick note, school administrators: you might be careful once Kevin’s highly trained crack-operative mom gets back from fighting Iraqi insurgents—surely you could have thought of easier kids to pick on with your humbling powers of mediocre public education administration?
