  10. overkill maybe?

  11. i read a article on that in a friends street racing magazine. Sooo nice. My dad says hes gonna pick up XM one day soon and i can't wait. i was at the Chicago auto show and i look at their floor model and it had D(ahhh i cant remember it, its a european heavy metal band) and that bands pretty low down and my jaw dropped.

My mom has XM and it's cool but I built an MP3 player into my car by using a mini ITX based comp and a touch flatscreen mounted where my old radio used to be {held on with ductape and super glue literally} unfortunately it covers up the climate control crap and it's mounted in a broke ass '96 Chevy Beretta and NoS wonders where my money for BF:V went :)

  13. Sounds like the stuff I do with my car. ;)

I stuffed 6.5" components into a 5x7 opening (was quite fun).... Running a JVC KD-SH55 headunit (motorized face, 3 pre-amps, 50x4, oodles of goodies), dual MTX 10" subs (6000 series, SVC), MTX 6x9's in the back deck (I hate them. Thank god I sold them) and a Fosgate 301m amp.

Did most of the work myself. Amp, deck and rear speakers (front speakers had to be taken to a shop, and the sub box was a custom enclosure)

Also using the Clifford G5 Concept 450 alarm system to protect my innards :)

Once I get a new job, I fully plan on selling my current car and picking up a 99-00 Grand Prix GTP and doing some audio/perf modifications to it... can anyone say 350 whp? :)

PS, lets see some in-car pics!

  14. I drive a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, the box in my truck had to be custom built, so that I could get the best possible sounding and hard hitting system. The goal for them was to keep the truck looking as factory as possible while having the best system that you could put into a truck with the limited space I have. They removed the legs for the back seats and have them resting on the top part of the enclosure. This did cause my seats to be raised approx. 1 1/4 in. You do feel like you are sitting back in your seat but I was told by the people that rode in the car the 6+ hours up to Atlanta, GA that they were great to sit in.

Ok so here are the car spec's:

    1. Head Unit: AVH-P7500DVD (see first post)

    2. Front and Rear door speakers: PIONEER TSD680R - Rev 6X8 Two Way 250 Speaker.

    3. Subs: JL Audio 10w3 x 2

    4. Amp: Autotek Street Machine SX 5750
    http://www.millenniumaudio.com/2004-SX.htm

Thats the most important stuff for now, any question just ask. Pictures to come soon, GF is almost here and well I dont want to waste time taking pics and crap of my ST

    Pictures will come soon!

I'm very interested in how they made it look factory.

  16. i never understand anything in these threads...

  17. It's ok Test. ;)

Actually, I believe the only thing that they couldn't make (unless a lot of custom work was done) would be the head unit.

The speakers you can sneak behind stock grills and the box would be hidden out of view anyway because of it being located behind the seats.

What's really hard to get looking stock? Kickers/midranges located beside the dead pedal and passengers right foot... gotta custom fab those babies. heh
