  1. what is a stabalizer pin on a vehicle?

...and how bad as far as repairs (cost) go to get it fixed?

[edit] okay it says its the stablilzer link? does that mean anything?

What kind of car do you have:

    Year:
    Make:
    Model:
    Mileage:

A stabilizer link Is used in the suspension of a car ..It connects a control arm(the part that leads to your wheel) to a Stabilizer bar Which ultimately Helps to keep the car from Rolling from left to right on turns.

I hate admitting that I work for a Car dealership

    ...Well,

Cant say for sure on a S-10 ... But, on most cars its pretty easy to replace them. Bout .5 hours per side...or around 75-80.00 labor plus parts which is generally around 35.00 each

You may be hearing a creaking or clicking sound over bumps. Or a lack of Traction around tight corners.( feels like car is rolling to outside)

    ope this helps ;)

  5. yeah...that helps alot...thanks... :)

at least now i can gauge a price range so these yahoo's up here don't rape me...

  6. If they are really gunna try to mess with you and they say they wanna replace the stabilizer bar... tell 'em you wanna look and see for yourself.. unless the thing is completely gutted with rust, no worries.

Though, a good course of action is to let the mechanic find the problem first, and then if he fixes it, you could get out of paying it by saying they never came to you first requesting auth. to fix it......

....though that can screw you over with that mechanic.. :p

  7. part is 30 bucks at auto zone... takes 15 mins to replace.... had to doit on my 98 s-10..... but you do need a pickle fork to break the ball joint tho....

  8. damn...that would be sweet if i knew any guys who knew anything about cars...because..i hate to say it...to me,that is a guy thing...well...untill i moved to nyc i thought it wa a guy thing...men in nyc don't know shit about cars...i know more abour cars than my guy friends here...and thats not saying too much...maybe i need to look into a pickle fork then..hrrmm...

btw...we are not talking a fork that you get pickles out of jars right? something totally different...cause hell..i have one of those ;)

  9. No  ;)

It looks like a tunning fork.... a thick metal rod with a u at the end, but I just thought....

Is the link just carodaded? rusted? or is it broke off.... if it gone you can place a new one on easy.... It is a no hassle job...... I could walk you through it.... all you need is a wrench, and 2 jacks.... the part looks like this.
