Thank you for showing interest in becoming a Dragon Wolf! Here is a short FAQ designed to answer any questions you may have, as well as give you pointers as to how to be a good recruit! This FAQ will also instruct you on how to find other CDL members using Teamspeak, the forums, and our IRC chat. So, let's begin.

<b><a name=divisions>What divisions do the Dragon Wolves currently have?</a></b>
The CDL presence can be found in a wide variety of games. Currently we don’t have any active divisions in a released game. We are beta-testing PlanetSide 2 and expect to be fully spun up in this game upon release.

PlanetSide 2
Our current and most active division, the Dragon Wolves play as Terran Republic and are actively recruiting to conquer Auraxis!

Typically the Dragon Wolves try a game out and invite other Dragon Wolves to try it out and they will play together for a while to test the game for longevity and the possibility of a future Division. If it doesn’t hold their attention, they will usually pass on to other games – always playing as a Pack!

<a name="leaders">Who are the leaders of CDL?</a>
Manitou is the leader of the Dragon Wolves. His officer's corps, consisting of six active members, helps him to lead the team to victory in every game we play. The leader of the Star Wars: The Old Republic division is Sentrosi.

<A name="comms">How do Dragon Wolves communicate?</a>
CDL uses many different ways of communicating with each other. First and foremost, we use the forums. Since you are only a recruit, you cannot see all of the CDL forums, but we have forums for every game we play, as well as general discussion forums and such. Second, CDL uses IRC (Internet Relay Chat) to communicate outside of the forums. We are on the PlanetSide Universe IRC server irc.planetside-universe.com, and can be found in the #cdl channel. Don't be afraid when you see that channel not very active, though - we do most of our talking in the private channels. Third, while playing games CDL uses Teamspeak 3 (http://www.teamspeak.us) to speak to each other. Once you become a recruit, teamspeak server information will be given to you so that you may join us.

<a name="nots">What if I don't have Teamspeak?</a>
Don't worry, it's a free download from http://www.teamspeak.us/. All you need is microphone and you're in the clear!

<a name="ts">How should I configure Teamspeak?</a>
The only thing we ask for our Teamspeak users is that you do NOT use Voice Activation. We ask that you please use Push to Talk, which means you have to press a key to be heard. This greatly reduces the amount of needless-noises on Teamspeak. This option can be set in Settings -> Sound Input/Output Settings. Full configuration options will be available to you once you gain access to the Recruits Only forums.

<a name="irc">How do I connect to IRC?</a>
Most people use mIRC (www.mirc.com) to connect to IRC (server irc.planetside-universe.com). There are other programs out there as well. You can also connect via the forums! Click this link, or gIRCChat above.

<a name="whyirc">Why should I get on IRC?</a>
One of the most important things you can do as a recruit is to get yourself involved with other Dragon Wolves. Just about all of us hang out on IRC at all times, so it's a great place to meet people in realtime. We encourage ALL recruits to hang around IRC and idle in the channel whenever possible. This helps us know that you are serious about joining us.

<a name="first">What should I do before I post my application?</a>
The very first thing you should do is read the -CDL- Recruiting Mission Statement. Then, read anything you can get your hands on about us. Our website, www.dragonwolves.com, is a great place to start. It has CDL history and gives a brief overview of the games we play. Lastly, read the CDL Code of Conduct.

<a name="app">What should my application include?</a>
A good application will answer most questions about yourself in the first post. We suggest posting things like your real name (first name is fine), your online alias, your past gaming history (including any previous clans), and perhaps a little bit about yourself in real life. Also, please include your in-game character name (and if you are applying for WoW, include faction, race, and class of that character.)

<a name="appforum">What do I have to do to gain access to the Recruits Only Forum?</a>
To gain access to the recruits only forums, after you have submitted your application, go to your UserCP and on the left sidebar click Group Memberships. Then, click Join Group next to the Dragonwolves Recruits group. This will give you access to the Recruits forum.

<a name="recforum">What is in the Recruits Only Discussion forum?</a>
CDL Division Officers will post upcoming operations in our games during which you may join us and help us meet you. We encourage all Dragon Wolves to participate in any and all operations. It is also a place for you to post and talk with other recruits and CDL members and ask any questions you may have.
