Nice little write up posted up on RSI
    Centauri System

If we can 'build' bases on planets, I would consider Yar as our base of operations. There is a gas giant within the system, an asteroid belt for mining, and low and behold the headquarters of MISC! We can keep the locals happy with imported materials, mining is very doable in-system, harvesting the gas giant seems to be a piece of cake in system as well.

Yar could be a nice base planet of operations. I could definitely see DWI setting up shop in this system.

  2. I floated an idea towards Rob Irving thru PM about making a section for themed expansions based on community input. This would not be a mainstream idea, but rather something where the studio asks fans for artwork and discussions on a particular proposal, holding all submissions in a portfolio until such time there is an opportunity to develop it for the game. For examples, check out what a few of us did for PlanetSide [link]

My suggestion for a trial run is where Centauri IV was listed as a coreless world - in turn, fans would submit ideas for a "Dyson Sphere" landscape, influencing how the new playable environment was developed.

  3. I feel that that system will be so flooded by the NPC market that there is little we could do or make a mark there.

It would be more lucrative to discover a system and get established in the market as the system populates.

Centauri might be a good place to get your feet wet, but I wouldn't call it home.

  4. I'd like to think that we'll have more than one "home" as the game progresses. Like a growing family we'll trade up and out as our influence grows.
