    It says its a standalone game demo so you shouldn;'t need the original to play, but I don't know how it would limit you in terms of the forces you could choose..

    Same goes for the actual release, it may be standalone too, but you may need the original to play with the older units maybe?

    Though I hear you can have the new stuff used against you (once released) even if you don't have the expansion.

    As outlined in this Anandtech article http://www.anandtech.com/systems/showdoc.aspx?i=3060&p=1 - Vista allocates entire blocks of RAM resources for video when used by DirectX 10 applications (games especially).

    This makes it especially hard for 32 bit Vista as it can only address up to 2 Gb, or you only (yeah only ) have 2 Gb to play with --- RAM gets used quickly (especially w/ SLI) and errors may result.

    As a result MS has a hotfix here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940105 that will be released on the 8/23 - but you can contact MS to get it sooner, although I have not tried yet.

    MS warns that they need more testing, so your YMMV.

    From what i read on the forums , the fix will offically come out on the 23rd of august...

    Ok i went to this link and did what they say about going to creating a new shortcut and doing it admin command..



    How to install the executable from an administrative command prompt (thanks clemedia):

    “Right click on your desktop and create a new shortcut

    for the location of the shortcut type in cmd.exe

    name it whatever you want it doesn’t matter

    right click on that new shortcut and choose “run as administrator”

    in the command prompt navigate to the directory you have the installer in…….if you have it on the desktop you would get there by typing in:

    cd\Users\[your windows username here]\Desktop

    then type in the name of the installer:
    COH_OF_Beta_Setup.exe

    and press enter…….bingo,done.”


    got it to install , now doing the patches and see what happens
