Cool, thanks for the link! :D

Just a nitpick (and none of this is directed at you, Paladin) -- most of those shirts have little or nothing to do with conservatism. The anti-communism ones certainly do, and this one has a conservative message (I like it, I might buy one :)). The rest are mostly homages to aggressive foreign policy and authoritarianism/fascism.

I really dislike the 'anti-liberal' selections. I think being liberal is a good thing:

    Relevant definitions:

    Liberal:

    1. One who favors greater freedom in political or religious matters.
    2. A person who favors an economic theory of laissez-faire and self-regulating markets.
    3. Friendly to great freedom in the constitution or administration of government.
    4. Having tendency toward democratic or republican, as distinguished from monarchical or aristocratic forms of government.
    5. Not bound by orthodox tenets or established forms in political or religious philosophy.

Liberal isn't the opposite of conservative, that's 'progressive'. The opposite of liberal is 'authoritarian'.

The anti-liberal crap is why I've lost the desire to vote for the Republican Party. They know what they're saying -- the nature of a politician's job requires them to be proficient with language.

I'm not voting for the Democratic Party, either -- they scare me just as much, if not more, than the GOP. I'm leaning heavily Libertarian lately, their platform really makes the most sense to me.

The last election really drove home the point for me. On one hand, President Bush's message basically boiled down to, 'Why change horsemen mid-apocalypse?'. Then there was John Kerry, with 'Bush sucks, vote Kerry -- because Bush sucks'. Wow...such inspiring choices.

Sorry about the rant, I just felt like getting that off my chest...

Nice rundown Symen, as usual. I enjoy reading your analysis on things. Even though I agree with a lot of the Libertarian views, I still have issues with some points that are major for me.

I say we start our own political party and call it the CDL. ;)

Oh, I do too. :) Their foreign policy stance in particular (basically, extreme, immediate isolationism) sounds particularly dangerous. I just find their stance on individual liberty/responsibility and the role and scope of government to be particularly appealing, especially when compared to the positions of the major parties.

I just wish that the government would remember more often that I'm not just a 'consumer' or a 'taxpayer'. I'm a citizen of the United States of America.

Sounds good to me. Hey, I just had a thought -- you're a natural-born American citizen over the age of 35, aren't you? ;)
