  1. why am I not surprised....

Y'see, this is why I don't use Mozilla's stupid clone of IE.

ummm actually the firefox team is already working on a patch and will be released soon while the 4 past critical security threats to IE won't be patched for another projected 3 months.......

EDIT: and this comes from the article
First can be fixed by the user and the second has already been fixed.

Not out yet. But all you have to do is turn off Javascript which few sites use heavily because when people see lotsa Javascript they usually get suspicious. You don't even really need to do that though because this exploit hasn't been found out in the wild (meaning actually used anywhere) as far as I know.

  5. Ya

Ya i use both browsers , just wanted to update people on stuff like i do. Both have had their share of probs and this makes Firefoxs 3rd. Makes ya wonder if Microsoft has a team looking for firefoxs flaws.

Of course they do. You know that Microsoft has about 40 people employed to just hack the hell out of Firefox.

  7. This is by far the most telling quote. All software has security flaws. The biggest reason Firefox is safer is because it doesn't have 90% market share. If Firefox keeps growing and it reaches 50/50 lets say, there will be just as many Firefox exploits as there will be IE exploits.

That's not to say it isn't a great browser. But I it bugs me when people bash Microsoft just cause they're Microsoft. They run 95% of the worlds PCs, they must be doing something right.

  8. Firefox 1.0.4 is now available.
Just run the update in Firefox.
    HAWT!

Aye I totally agree, theres flaws in MS and IE because its used on billions of computers as compared to FireFox hehe.

If anything there are probably MORE flaws in FF

Probably true but the FF team releases patches for problems as they come out. The next IE patch doesn't come out until June and I'm saying this as I read of 4 more vulnerabilites found in IE that won't get patched until the next patch in June. This is what helps FF be more secure. And mind you most problems aren't found by the random user but by companies like the one I linked to.

There are always IE hotfixes coming out on windows update

  16. Ohnos, 2 whole exploits. Every product MS releases has at least 10 exploits which get fixed about 6 months down the road. At least with Firefox the patches come fast since you can actually contact the developers and let them know what is going on (must like with 99% of opensource software). This is impossible with Microsoft.

  17. I can partially agree with you but the problem here is that IE will run anything that its told to by an outside website. Thats its "user friendly" portion. FireFox will not. It will not auto-install ANYTHING! That makes it 10x better than IE in any form and fashion. Oh and the ability to customize....AdBlock FTW!

  19. Hey guys the same Sh..stuff is said about apple v. microsoft........apple is so much better because it doesnt get viruses, but the only reason is that it didnt get alot of viruses is cause it was hardly used, more and more you see more viruses comming for makes now, and as razor said that with the growth of Firefoxes there are sure to be people looking to exploit more and more problems.....this is just how it seems to be from my perspective any.
