Dane's Application

Hello friends! My name is James, you probably know me as Dane/Daner. I am 31 years old, married and looking to adopt or steal a baby, so watch your kids! I live in North Dakota where its been really cold for what seems like the entirety of my life, so it leaves me a lot of time for gaming. In order from least to greatest I love: pizza, football, movies, gaming, my friends, my family and monkeys. No Silver not sheep, monkeys!

I started online gaming in 99 with Everquest and eventually moved on to the online side of WW2 games like Medal of Honor, CoD and Battlefield. I also dabbled here and there with many failed mmos and eventually discovered Planetside, which changed my gaming life. Planetside through a series of outfit mergers and alliances introduced me to what would become my Internet family, ATF. I loved Planetside, I loved being Vanu, I loved my pulsar, loathed my beamer, and delighted in magmowing NC/TR (mainly NC,god I hate them!). When WoW launched that took over a lot of my mmo time, it got me very close to ATF and even introduced me to my wife. In between breaks from WoW I tried many more failed mmos and played BF2/2142 and also I am ashamed to admit the more current CoD games. After quitting WoW I've tried many games out, Bf3 , Day Z, World of Tanks, SWTOR and others but none had hooked me like WoW or Planetside.

This brings me to Planetside 2 and CDL. To be honest until a few months ago I was not very familiar with CDL. In Planetside we were on different servers and to be totally honest I don't really remember any outfits from PS. I knew some of you played SWTOR and that was the reason ATF chose the evil Empire but I didn't know much else because my wife hated the evil guys so for the short period of time I played SWTOR we played the Republic on a different server (what the wife wants she eventually gets so why fight it?). When I heard ATF would be playing with CDL as TR I was a little taken aback. No magmower? No pulsar? No tight fitting purple suit? No glowy disco orbs? We would NOT be playing as Vanu, and with a group of people I didn't know? That feeling lasted until the first time Gryphon got me an invite to the squad from Hamma and I heard the lengthy and very informative discussion the group was having on TS about adult uhm... objects. This instantly set me at ease because it reminded me of ATF and some of the silly talks we would have. That night and the other times I have been able to play with CDL, have been very enjoyable and enlightened me as to why you all are so respected.

That brings me to the reasons why I would like to join CDL and hopefully be welcomed into your family. CDL to me represents a group of friends getting together and through great organization and clear goals accomplishing whatever they put their minds to. I greatly admire the professionalism shown during the op nights I have been on but what I admire most is the friendship I have seen between clan mates. I very much value the sense of friends and family I get when I hear you all talk to each-other, the fun banter and yet the ability to turn the switch and be professional to achieve a goal.

What can I bring to CDL? I am willing to play what ever role is needed of me, of course I have my preferences but I am willing to do what is needed to get a job done. If I have to fly a mossy (and most likely crash shortly after spawning it), heal people as a medic, or drive a sundy around I will do whatever the group asks of me. I am willing to go where I am needed when I am needed and I also try very hard to keep a clean coms channel. I am quiet now as I am getting to know everyone but I do know how to have fun and am confident that I will get along well with the clan. I am not the type to talk smack or brag and I do not cheat or exploit. I am not the best player as I have what seems to be diminishing aim and reflexes but I am willing to work and do what is needed for the clan.
