DAoC or SWG - which one?

    Just what is the big deal about DAoC? It looks very similar to Asheron's Call 2, and it has a lot of places to visit and different races.

    SWG however, is a lot more in tune the Jedi Knight series, and follows principles along the lines of using a lightsaber from the normal titles of the genre...

    ...basically what I guess i'm asking is, since I only have the money to take on one more online game, which of them should I get:

    Star Wars Galaxies, or Dark Age of Camelot?

    I think DAOC would be best for now since i heard SWG is still really buggy in stuff but ive never played either of them.

    Eh its hard to compare the two, they are very different games.

    We have a few new people starting DAOC, talk to Mani, or Arg, or Shads, or Firez for details on that. But they all play Alb :(

    Anywho, I won't recommened either, just play what you think will be more fun.

    DAOC has a lot of great stuff and a lot of not, just like any game. Never played SWG myself, although I know a number of people who are having fun with it.

    Beta'd and played both still play Daoc

    basically SWG just didnt have the feel for me, in Daoc we all get together to do stuff, in SWG i had fun too but it got so stale so fast dont really know if it was all the bugs and things the cover had yet the game didnt or if i just missed the Daoc Crew. Anyhow if you choose Daoc we would be glad to help ya and if you choose SWG ill give ya what advance i can.

    Very funny, Hamma. Since we in the EU get charged £5 more on our monthly subscriptions to Planetside, why on earth would I buy a copy of a game I already have?


    ... and don't you dare say its because Planetside isn't on Earth, either. :)

    I'd pick Dark Age. Its funner. ;)

    The biggest problem I had with SWG was missing content from innital release, and the fact that a blaster bolt can follow you around in circles because the dice rolled a hit from the point of orgin rather then the target. You have no idea how dumb a person can feel until you are hideing behind a huge rock and the blaster bolt heat seeks around it and knocks you out! !!And its not because of lag!!
    (DAoC has a good number more cdl players then SWG too!) :D

    Just my personal feelings on it. Take your pick, they both have points that are better then the other. I hope you have lots of fun at which ever you do pick.

    Well, after looking at the features an stability of both games, I've made my decision.

    It's... DAoC. Besides, I have far too many Star Wars games for my own good. I'll also be getting BF1942 hopyfully for Christmas, so that'll be another game I can be on.
