Digi Cams

    Hey folks.. here's the every-few-months-obligatory-post about digi cams.

    I'm thinking of getting one for Christmas (especially since I'll be spending a month in Costa Rica in January) and I'm looking for advice.

    I want one that's small enough to fit in my pocket comfortably yet still takes good pictures and has good zoom. I also want one that doens't try to automatically "make it better" like some of the crappy kodaks I've seen. They screw up pictures so bad.

    Any suggestions for relatively cheap ($2-350) yet still really good?

    Agree with Hamma on this. Except for the ownership of the Canon Powershot that is.

    I just bought a Sony DSCN2 Cyber-shot camera and I'm very happy with it. Its probably more camera then I'll ever need and it will fit in your pocket.

    As a product line, the Canon Powershot Axxx line usually ranks high in reviews. Since Mig is wanting a slighly bigger digital camera, those are not the size she would like. But, I would consider one of those for myself.

    FYI, there are a couple of web sites that are pretty good for digital camera reviews. You might just do a web search.
