Still no interweb. I think this is day 15 or 16.

Monday they turned on the phone. They told me when the I got the router it meant they had the DSL turned on and I was ready to go.

I got the router a week or so ago which meant I was ready to rock. But I was getting the "no DSL signal detected" from the router in a browser window.

So Monday I call and they tell me that my DSL was scheduled to be turned on "right now". (Which caused me to blurt out "So why isn't it on?") They explained that it would be on by Tuesday.

Tuesday I call and they explain they are checking the lines and that it would be turned on by Wednesday. (I resisted the urge to ask if they were polishing the lines) They said if it wasn't on by Wednesday they would kick it up to the networking department.

Wednesday I call and the guy tells me to unplug the computer from the router. I didn't to make him happy, but explained the router was talking to the PC's just fine. Then the guy told me to plug the modem directly into the wall. I tried to explain that the phone I was talking on would have to be unplugged to do that. He insisted that it didn't. I didn't argue and did what he said. Breaking the connection the instant I unplugged the phone to plug in the router. So while I am waiting on them to call me back, I take the router right out to the phone box outside the house, plugged in and start it up. Of course getting the red blinky DSL light meaning it didn't see jack.

They kicked it up to the networking department and I have learned that no matter how hard I glare at the router, DSL doesn't magically materialize.
