Earthrise Beta in February

The MMO from Masthead Studios, Earthrise, will be starting its beta early next month, but for now they've released a trailer on what people can expect from the gameplay once it goes live:

Earthrise is set after WW3 when humanity has rebuilt our civilisation into a highly-advanced and peaceful society, now nigh-incpable of dying - or so it appears. In reality, the new planetary government of Sal Vitas plays the role of God. With the human race being dependant on cloning to exist, they decide who lives and who dies, which has prompted a resistance movement to declare war...

Much like games such as NEOCRON, gameplay works through a skill system and player-driven economy. Every player has a stake in who its world expands and evolves, whether they be a soldier fighting in the civil war, a criminal out for themselves or an honest citizen in their chosen profession. However, you can create and extend your character any way you want, with no "class" restrictions unlike most MMOs.
