Good move? I think so. Im tired of dialing support numbers and the first option is for Spanish. I'm tired of our tax dollars being wasted on "Spanish Immersion". In order to go to school you should speak english. Is it really that hard to understand? Want to come into the US? Learn our Language, and at least attempt to assimilate into our population.

    The national language is English.

Just like if I were to move to any other country I'd respect their language and would WANT to learn it.

    **Edit**
Plus the ladies would love to teach me their language of love. :brow::rawr:

    *sigh*

We should all just find an island, create our utopia, have other nations/people jealous of us, attempt to invade, get beaten back by our unique defense system (we'd tie our gameplay into our defenses, thus we'd play games to defend our island), watch the rest of the world fall into shambles, deteriorate, slowly starve itself to death, then finally die. Once we have the strong people who survived all of this come out of the chaos, we would then turn the world into our utopia. One nation, One world. Humanity united.

Oh, and our national language would be English. Secondary language? English. We would take all the worlds books, pamplets, etc that weren't english and translate them into english.

  8. And if we can't translate em, screw em, they get burned.

cept the Dead Sea Scrolls and things of that ilk, don't wanna go burnin that stuff...but those silly gold plates that were allegedly found in ohio and form the basis of some sillyness, they're gettin burned no matter what language they're in...

  9. and l33t speak would be the "forgotten" language. (hopefully...LONG GONE)

One of my peeves is the ATM near my office starting in Spanish. Now, I know enough Spanish to use it and switch to English, but why Spanish? There are probably three people here who speak Spanish. Why not French? Quebec is 15 miles away, at least a French ATM would get some use. :p

Also, I'll never understand why the guy who wrote my programming text editor bothered to internationalize it -- all the programming languages it supports are based on the English language! You have to have a working knowledge of English for the editor to be useful to you!

  11. When I lived in HI, they allow test-takers to take the 'visual' in Japanese.

None of the road signs are in Japanese.

Try seeing signs in English and spanish and getting stuff that's English and Spanish......unless in the NE area of the US , i don't see us putting things in german , french , japanese etc for them.

I have some friends from germany...and even tho they speak to each other in german , they still learned english and became citizens.
