Discussion in 'General Open/Public Discussion' started by KickedOut, 16 Oct 2006.

  1. I wish I would of read up on this all in one miserable crap Charter comunications gives out to its users.

Here is my tail of the last 24hrs, and I still dont know if I have rid my PC of this crap.

I have been having a ton of issues with my home network lately speed wise. I was running AVG7.1 home virus software, and scanning my PC regularly so I was confused as to what the hangup was with my speed.

So I also tryed out Trend Micro, got nothing. I then decided I would give my ISP's online scanner a shot.

Low and behold it found somthing 3 nasty ones too.
    W32/Banker.AIHR
    W32/ABWIZ.QP
    W32/Bifrose.CRO

All trojans these little buggers said they could get access to bank accounts, take screen shots change PW ect ect.......

So I used F-Secure to find them, then I went back thru and deleted what I could find registrys Msconfig Sub directories etc..... Then to make ultra sure I was clean I reran it again. And I was clean. So I figured I would Down Load this software that worked so well online to my PC. After all it was free from my ISP, BIG MISTAKE!

1st it slowed my PC boot process by like 85%,
2nd it then locked me out of the internet with its own firewall.
3rd Tryed to uninstall it and got about 17 additional errors and lockups during that process.
4th Even after I managed to remove it and most of the subdirectories that it created it decided to legacy $hit into the registry.

I have managed to get my internet back but I havent rebooted for I am afraid of what will happen when I reboot.

After all of this I think I might just reformat anyways, so in short keep this programmy out of your PC since it almost as bad as a virus itself.

    KO
