  2. Never was a big fan of pavarotti. I'm sure there will be a large portion of the worlds population that will miss his huge voice.
    God speed!

I know nothing about opera. Just met the man the one time in my life and knew he was a great man. Didn't even know he was rediculously famous till afterward.

So I'm not a fan of opera, but I'm a fan of Pavarotti.

  4. he will be greatly missed in the community...i personally am a huge fan of opera (yes...believe it or not) and this man was the shit...ive never used that phrase before...strange how i use it refering to this kind of legend (in my eyes)

  5. I am not a fan of opera... however I am a fan of human talent and skill, and Pavarotti is one of the greatest musical talents the world has seen. I am in awe that you had the honor of meeting that man HTS, that is truly a once in a lifetime experience. On a side note, one of the most frustrating things for me in the modern performance world is this incredibly aggravating trend of the "mandatory" standing ovation. At least in my area, virtually any stage performance nets a standing ovation. There have been quite a few times when I as an actor thought that the show (often touring broadway shows) was average at best; and yet the audience is giving a standing ovation. This is incredibly frustrating as it makes it incredibly difficult as a performer to value a standing ovation as it should be, which is what Pavarotti described, the highest honor a performer can receive. So, for everyone reading this, do not give a standing ovation unless it is a truly exceptional performance.

Raptor, I had no idea at the time what a great honor it was. I was completely absorbed with how awesome it was.

and I agree about the standing ovation thing. :p~
