As promised last night a new PlanetSide 2 Hotfix is out today with a variety of bug fixes and new weapons for the Sunderer. Depot - G30 Walker and G40-F Ranger now available for Sundere...

  2. Interesting overall patch: My thoughts...

-I'd wondered for a long time why Sunderers didn't have access to AA weapons. I figured SOE thought it would be OP vs air... I guess they changed their minds? I'm eager to throw 2 rangers on a Sundy and see how well it can fend off ESFs. Of course this will leave it woefully vulnerable to enemy armor...

-I'm not surprised the Prowler anchored projectile speed was wrong. I tried it Wednesday night and it was basically a 120mm sniper rifle. lol

-Good to see that their removing the invisible death fields from the top of vehicles.

-ESFs probably deserve a little love after all the AA lovin' we've been seeing lately. Improved flak armor is a good way to limit that lovin' to pilots who put certs and effort into being pilots without overbuffing them for every random scrub who grabs an ESF.

    -The Banshee will still suck...

-I don't think the lock on angle will be significant on the ground, maybe more so for A2A. It's probably fair to increase the lock on time for the Annie. It gives a ton of flexibility over either the skep or the grounder.

Hopefully the FLAK armor makes a difference. I feel like the sunderers without AA was a good trade-off considering the powerful ability of spawning.

  4. As I was stating in twitter. I think Flak armor needs some work and stealth (on all vehicles) should prohibit lock ons. They both share a defense slot upgrade so you can have both and could vastly increase survivability without being OP. Only time you would have to worry is if you fighting a combined group, but most pugs are not that coordinated.

  5. I'm bitter about the prowler anchored mode. Two levels of it was HOT for sniping. Oh well. :( I want my 300 certs back now.

  6. I think PROHIBITING lock on would be super OP. I agree that stealth could use a bit more usefulness, but not quite THAT much. lol :)

They need to entirely rework the Air/AA scenario. I agree AA is getting to be too much. Solution? ESF's are anti-ESF and Lib. Libs are AI or AV only, not the capablity of doing both. Do that and pull all the lock on infanctry rockets and the vehicle AA guns and leave it to Skyguards and Burster Maxes (and even maybe nerf them somewhat). Pilots will say that's a huge nerf. So's taking out G2A lock ons. Pilots always say the counter to Air is Air. There you go, simple solution.

I'm predicting an AA Sundie (either dual Walkers or better, dual Rangers) with Rearm and Spawn will by far replace the Skyguard. Nobody will need to roll one when the Sundy will easily outperform it.

  8. I hada goal to get tank mines this week...now I'm thinking dual ranger sunderer...

  9. Not really when ever ground vehicle (save flash) can sport an AA gun and how man Burster Maxes do you see on average. It would really just force outfits into a more combined arms style and at least make the dedicated AA missile launchers useful again since they can dumb-fire. Or perhaps give missile launcher a heat seek upgrade that is easier to break, but defeats the stealth upgrade. Just brainstorming

Going to go buy my Rangers tonight :)

  10. I love how Assist got into that thread and started complaining about no Magrider addressing and general VS underpopulation. That guy exclusively plays in a Magrider... hence his ridiculous K/D ratio and BR. I wonder how some of these guys would do if they actually spent the majority of their time with their boots on the ground.

  11. Lol cause the VS are so hurting due to their population issues. Not like they won nearly all the servers on the UES
As for the magrider, I think it is a non issue, they are still pretty good even with the slow strafe.

  12. Well, they won so many UES events because someone leaked the competition objectives beforehand and they pre-captured those continents in time for the start of UES.
