    Wow, that looks fantastic..

  3. Yea, Ill be guarding the ship, Lol ... Seems fairly twitch, at least to me. Wonder if there is gonna be any medic mechanics in the FPS?

    There will be Sieldan.
Right now they hinted at a medic mechanic but not like what you've been used to in other FPSs.

There are going to be various 'conditions' for your arms, legs, chest and head. For the sake of this post, lets say the severity ranges from minor, major, traumatic, catastrophic. Let's say I'm fighting and I get hit in the arm. My HUD will display a minor hit to my arm. I can continue to fire but at a reduced efficiency (gun wobbles a bit more, not able to get off semi auto fire as fast, etc). Now let's say I get hit in the same arm. My HUD will now show it being a major wound. You, as a medic, would be able to field dress it to its minor state. You may not be able to dress it to full 100% heal until you get me back to the med bay.
I'm speculating here but if I'm at a traumatic state I might be able to be healed to a minor state over time during the battle.

It's ambitious to say the least. No more pointing a med gun and healing you on the run in SC. Hopefully they have a drag mechanic so that a friendly may be able to drag an injured teammate back to cover for repairs.

  5. Definite potential here! I'm hoping/assuming that the player animations are far from finished... but other than that, color me very interested! :D

Field dressings (which you can apply yourself) elevate wounds one level and stop bleeding, but you can't heal them any more than that. By swapping out the heavy weapons slot, you can take a medial device that can heal more than that. "Ruined" limbs cannot be healed at all, other than to stop bleeding. If a limb is ruined, it'll require a medical facility to repair or in some cases will need to be replaced. (per Kedhrin, anyway) That all should be official as of now, btw.

  7. Looks good. And yea, I was seeing those 'mechanics' as well. Just wondering if it was going to be just a self medicated thing, or if a 'dedicated' medic would be able to do more.

Try as I might, I just can not get skilled enough with twitch fighting...

There'll be something like two version. Think of it as Field Dressing vs Medic/Corpsman. You can slap a field dressing on yourself and stop the bleeding, pop a couple vitamin M and continue the fight, but slightly impaired. A medic can come along with a more robust kit to fix you up even better, stitch up that wound and give you a shot of morphine. You're not 100%, but you're a lot better than you were. Neither can replace a ruined/missing limb in the field, or bring you back to life.

Speaking of which, and here's some secret intel for you, you're right-handed and your right limb gets wounded. You have to switch to your left, right? And you don't expect to be as accurate? Also, if you're having trouble breathing? Extrapolate the announced damage templates and conditions, and you can guess where they might go with it. It's not a done deal, but it's being tested and you might see some pretty cool stuff come out of the FPS module in the next six months or so.
