Gladius vs. Avenger

    Guise, I can't find a recent thread on the SC forums about this, but I really don't feel like getting flamed for a repost, so maybe you all can lend me a hand with this:

    Why would I buy a $90 Gladius over a $60 Avenger? I'm looking at the stats now, and I don't see any major differences between the two to justify the price differential. Everything looks pretty equal save the Gladius seems to sacrifice speed for maneuverability in terms of primary thrusters (maneuvering thrusters are exactly the same). The Avenger actually seems to have a few perks in terms of versatility that the Gladius lacks.

    For one, I would hold off making a decision until the Avenger gets its AC ready status (stats are very likely to change).

    The Avenger is suppose to be balanced out a bit, it will likely lose its TR 5 engine and the Size 5 nose gun, barring an variants I would expect them to be more in line with each other.

    But the most notable difference is the Gladius is designed to be a pure dog fighter and in the UEE you have 3 class of Fighters.

    Light - Gladius
    Medium - Hornet
    Heavy- F8 Thunder (or lighting I forget the name)

    The Avenger is a Police Car, and will certainly have a bit more utility.

    I bought the Gladius, just because it looks pretty cool and I have LTI on it :)
