Global Agenda mmo fps

Discussion in 'Upcoming Games Discussion' started by ShadowSpawn, 10 Dec 2009.

  1. Are we looking into this as a new planetside/tribes venture?

Not from what I have heard - seems to be mostly instanced battles which seems to defeat the purpose of an MMO -

Have you tried it out at all? I am in beta but never tried it because I heard not so good things from some others about it hehe

EDIT: If it ever comes out it looks like Jumpgate Evolution has sparked the most interest from a bunch of wolves'

  3. I don't know about most people, but I found Global Agenda to be a really boring game. They did a preview of it months ago and I didn't felt dusty and exhausted just trying to imagine what playing it would be like.

  4. I can't say that I have or haven't been not playing since early alpha. It is instanced, it's more of a multiplayer game than mmo, but there are mmo elements that will be coming in, like the plan is to have a giant map, and teams fight over sections (instances), whoever wins a map, gains control and can attack then the next adjacent sectors.

The gameplay itself is fun, and the developers are really cool and seem pretty open to community input, which to me is very important.

I downloaded the demo of the game. It's not bad. Might fill that niche I'm looking for. Plus Steam has it on sale this weekend for $30. I may hold out and see if it drops in price or I may just end up buying it if other CDLers are interested in it.
Ghostblaydz is the name. I took the role of Medic.

  6. I haven't played it in a month or so. Got most of the classes up to 20-25. Got pretty bored with it. The PvE maps were pretty fun especially once you get to the harder ones, but there were only a few so it got very repetitive. If this game had a full blown PvE\PvP world along with inventory\item system it would have been really nice.

Looks like global Agenda is Ditching their subscription model in favour of just making you pay for expansions, and the game itself.. Could be worth a look, as I liked the game, but wasn't happy with the idea of paying monthly for a population restricted, instanced FPS.

May have to check it out more. I got my medic up to 14th level and even ran into an old Planetside vet; Hedron. He asked if I wanted an agency invite. I declined, but I may have to look him up again if they put this model into place.

It's also for sale right now on steam for $26 I think.

edit: Picked it up on sale, so we'll see how it goes :)

Yeah, I saw that it was on sale with Steam. Was going to pull the trigger this weekend, but Star Wars: Force Unleashed was on sale for $7.50 along with Jedi Academy. Couldn't pass those up.

  11. Downloaded the new updates and played some yesterday for first time in months. Its changed a good bit since I last played. The new pve features aren't bad. You tried it out Asp?

Yep, got to level 5 I think.. the missions are a bit dull (beginner ones are almost too easy) but I'm looking forward to trying some of the pvp out.. All in all it looks pretty interesting so far..
