    Howdy all~!

    Have a safe and enjoyable holiday celebration~!
    I remember why we celebrate this day and many thanx to all the Americans (within the military and those outside) that have, and continue to make America strong and independant.

    I was reminded last night of why this country is so great. My wife, sister and brother-in-law went down to the capital to watch one of the most impressive fireworks displays I have ever seen. We saw them from the best seats in town, a restaurant right on the plaza called Sign of the Tree. My wifes aunt works there and she took great care of us. We had seats better than the Mayor of Albany! But this isn't why this country hasn't lasted over 200 years.

    This country has lasted because of family. The four of us had such a great time down there. We just sat and talked about everything for a good 4 hours. We touched on so many subjects. We remembered fondly my father and how he would do things when at the restaurant whenever he came out to visit. It was a time of reflection for me also, on how far I have come in the 5 years since I moved away from Wisconsin and also on how far I have to go yet. My wife was reminded of the times she used to come down with her family and watch the fireworks. She would be sitting on her fathers shoulders as the big boom booms went off.

    A lot has changed since this country first celebrated our independance. But so much has changed for the better that I cannot see our faith and our dedication faltering one bit.

    God bless you Red, White and Blue. Stay true, proud, and namely, American.
