    The way they tell it is the game is along the lines of my future project... it has a singleplayer campaign, but the multiplayer is MMOFPS-based.

    You can (thankfully) also switch between 1st-person, and the casual overhead 3rd-person views.

    It does look tempting. Anyone read about the Hunter class? It says that it'll be the third class incorporated into the game. Basically it'll be the medium to long range sniper. Reading about it has gotten my hopes up for this game.

    2007 can't come soon enough. Though bring me Huxley!

    So its getting close. Scheduled release date is Oct 30th. So far the few people in beta have reported it is an excellent game and lots of fun. How long the fun of an online hack and slash fps/rpg/hybrid/whatever lasts, who knows.

    But you can get the pre-orders in store now and get into the next open beta, time not annouced yet. Usually you can get those pre-order boxes in store for $10. After playing beta you will know if you like it and want to get it or not. Will also give you access to pre-order goodies and another founders club type option for a lifetime subscription to their premium content. Also it sounds like they plan a number of expansions to future cities like Hellgate: New York, etc.

    I think I'll give this game a shot. Looks like an interesting concept. Going to go get my preorder in now.

    Finnally got the D/L last night. Played a Hunter up to level 4. The zones after the newb zone were down, so made a sword and boarder. Its still EXTREMELY buggy unfortunately. Especially for a game thats supposed to go live at the end of the month.

    Models are not great. Terrain and maps are ugh. Not auto-aim really but almost seems like some ammo is heatseaker or something and just hits whatevers in front of you. Melee combat is ok but nothing inspired. Skill trees look very bland and boring so far.

    Was able to get into the forums also and its loaded down with complaints about stability, graphics, game play, etc. Pretty much Guild Wars except you can jump. Haven't given up on it yet, still need to play some more and get out of the newbie zones.

    Just played the demo from fileplanet and it's pretty much a prettier/better version of tabula rasa mixed with a little of Diablo. The only thing that's making me go huh is the fact that you need to pay a monthly fee for premium service(this include content updates which apparently free users don't get?).
